Where Magick come to life

Pagan Family, USA

witch spells 291x300 Pagan Family, USAUS society in general holds puritan moral values on issues such as sex, women’s roles, humanity’s place in the universal scheme of things, money and authority. Pagan parents who choose to teach their children Pagan values and mores often find themselves attacked or censored unfairly or perceived as immoral. It is difficult enough raising a child without having to battle the inhibitions of your neighbors or watch your children retreat from you and your beliefs in order to fit in with their school mates.

Feeling connected socially is important to all of us. Consider your own issues with social acceptance. How supported do you feel and what are you doing to satisfy your needs for community? Now, apply the same questions to your children’s issues, keep in mind that children don’t have access to the same resources or personal insight and understanding that you have. Do your children socialize with other Pagan kids? If not, are you able to provide them with the opportunity to do so? Do they know any other children who are being brought up Pagan or have a Pagan parent?

It is impossible to prevent your children from feeling different. Every child experiences insecurity and feelings of being outside “the group,” even the children who are popular. However, connecting with other Pagan children could help your child feel better, providing them a link to a religious or spiritual community.

It is possible to help your children by becoming more involved in the pagan community yourself.
There are many Pagan festivals, with camping and workshops, where kids are welcomed and provided with activities. Attending a festival as a family, would offer them a community as well as the benefit of seeing other kids being sage-d or drummed and dancing openly and proudly around the Circle fire.

So, what do you do if your child doesn’t want to meet other pagans or come with you to events? Easy, you do not ask them, you just bring them. You are the parent.
Kids are kids; they are not going to willingly face experiences or lessons which make them uncomfortable unless there are consequences they understand. They will choose the easy road, the path of least resistance, the path of Avoidance. It’s a parent’s privilege to provide the discernment, the tools and the opportunities for their children’s growth, until the child is experienced enough to stand without aid. As such, it falls to parents to create opportunities, and set realistic goals for children, in which they are challenged by obstacles reasonably within their ability to overcome.

At a gathering, children are faced with the stresses of socializing, minus the anxiety of cultural, spiritual and religious differences. They will discover that Mum isn’t so weird. “After all, look at how many people believe like she does.” Seeing how strong, happy and confident Mom is in her practice will help them face their own spiritual obstacles later down the road. Realizing that they are part of a larger community will help them feel supported as they develop their own spiritual beliefs and practices.

The best thing a Pagan parent could do to help is, cultivate friendships with other pagan parents and expose their children to the larger pagan community, opening the door for Pagan children to find validation in what they are being taught and become part of their own circle of pagan friends.

Amazing Insight Into Crystal Healing – Alternative Natural Therapy

24crystal 300x225 Amazing Insight Into Crystal Healing Alternative Natural TherapyCrystal Healers

As an alternative healing method, or as some people call a holistic technique, or strengthening the body and mind, crystal healers have been around for thousands of years. Using various patterns utilizing natural crystals, a crystal healer’s work with the aura of a body helps it to heal it in some way, whether physical or emotional. Sometimes referred to as gemstone therapy, the use of crystal healers is as widely varied as the gems that are employed in this technique.

Crystal healers learn how to heal a mind and body by playing the crystals on areas on the body known as chakras. A chakra is a term that refers to the spiritual energy that is present in everyone. With seven major chakras throughout the body, each chakra works together to form a person’s energy and when that is out of alignment it can bring bad or negative energy to a person either in the mind or body. The crystals redirect the negative energy and instead direct the flow of good energy back into the body which in turn brings back the balance that the chakras naturally have. Ultimately, crystal healers use these gems to heal medical ailments, emotional discrepancies, and spiritual misguidance.

This History of Crystal Healers

Crystal healers have been found in almost every culture throughout history from the Indian tribes to the Egyptian people. Although the actual originator of using crystals as phsycial and mental therapy is unknown, it has been proven that this technique has been practiced for centuries and is still being used today all around the world. Even King Tut’s tomb was surrounded by jade amulets which are thought to guide the soul after death. The Chinese culture still greatly believe in the use of crystal healers, especially with the use of jade and emerald which is thought to increase their memory and intelligence. In other cultures crystal healers would use agate, lapis lazuli, all types of amulets, amethyst and more to help with everything from sickness to stress.

The Benefits Crystal Healers Give to You

has a great number of benefits to help the spiritual nature of a person as well as mental and physical ailments. Some of the most powerful benefits to crystal healing are the use of crystal therapy for personal development as well as health and vitality. healers work with you to promote change within your self and your mind and to heal many physical conditions when conventional medicine just doesn’t seem to work or it needs to be combined with holistic practices in order to spur on the recovery. Other ways that a crystal healer can benefit you is by relieving overall stress, anxiety and depression, or just helping you to relax. It can help with menstrual problems, headaches, digestive problems, relief from pain, fatigue, memory loss, concentration and even learning difficulties. It has shown great results with relationships, wealth building and personal self fulfillment.

By working to heal the body, crystal therapy is a natural form of deep relaxation mixed with meditation that boosts the overall immune system and makes the body function more efficiently. It benefits the body by balancing the mind with the spirit which in turn balances the body. It can boost creativity, improve communication and even help with the development of your spirituality. It is not recommended that you replace medical treatment if it is needed, but it can give a boost to your wellbeing that can actually improve the body and mind. From increasing feelings of empowerment, inspiring love, or to relieving migraines, healers offer a world of benefits to anyone.

What Crystal Healers Do

The act that a crystal healer performs is very simple. They place crystals on different parts of the body, in a certain area of a room or anywhere that corresponds to the chakras that are out of balance. By constructing an energy grid of sort to remove the bad energy and bring in the good energy, crystal healers work to surround a person with the healing energy that they need. This in turn removes the blocked chakras in the aura of the body. By using the color of crystals that match up with the color of the chakra, the crystals give off different healing vibrations for different treatments. This brings about the positive vibrations that attract positive events in the life of a person who uses a healer.

Crystal healers work in a place of serenity, usually in a space that promotes peace and quiet as well as comfort. Fully clothed, the healer will speak to you about what you feel is wrong so that they can decipher what crystals should be used and what chakras need to be unblocked. Some of the most popular gems healers use is amber, selenite, rose lepidolite, and subilite although there are many to choose from. Each offers a different healing property. For example, amber helps with the energy that helps with love and self esteem whereas the selenite helps the unblock energy of a person’s higher consciousness. Crystal healers help a person to heal themselves from within and it is a skill that everyone can learn. In fact, there are several crystal healers’ course workshops that promote the overall knowledge of how crystal healing can effectively change a person’s life and wellbeing. During these crystal healers course workshops a person can learn how to use visualization techniques as well as relaxation techniques to help them remove the negative energy from their bodies and balance the chakras to again feel the positive energy move throughout the body.

Second Degree Initiation

imbolcritual Second Degree InitiationA ceremony to recognize completion of the 2nd degree course of study

The Circle is cast as usual. All are properly prepared and purified. High Priestess and High Priest perform the Ceremony in concert. The candidate is brought into the circle by a friend and circled 3 times deosil, ending north of the altar, facing the Priest, who is standing south of the altar (where else?).

PRIEST:
“This is the time of Full Moon, a time for rekindling of light. The struggle for higher light is: That we may see it, and seeing it, work and live by it. We are about to embark upon a solemn ceremony to rekindle the light of Knowledge, the light of Will, the light of Compassion, the light of Steadfastness; we will combine these lights, and rekindle the light of Dedication in our Sister (Brother) here before us.
______________, here have you been taught the ways of the Wise, that you might count yourself among those who serve the Gods, among the brothers and sisters of the Wicca, those who are called the shapers of the universe.”

PRIEST:
“I now direct your attention to the two lights upon our altar, the one representing the Sun, the God, and the High Priest; the other representing the Moon, the Goddess, and the High Priestess. The High Priest and Priestess, presiding over the coven, may be thought of as ‘One light to rule the day, one light to rule the night’. Since these lights are both beneficent, each having honor in its place, the Craft of the Wise does not set day against night, God against Goddess, Priest against Priestess. In the Craft, we do not define evil as a negative power, rather as the lack of light; where there is the light of Sun or Moon, God or Goddess, there can be no lack of light. Choose one, or both; place light within yourself, and nurture it.”
“In times past, the Circle of Initiation was called a ‘Hermetic Circle’, after Hermes, the ancient name for the planet Mercury.” In astrology, the house of the Sun is in the zodiacal sign of the lion, which is the fifth house; the house of the Moon is in Cancer, the crab, and is in the fourth house; and the day house of the planet Mercury is in the Gemini, the Twins, and is the third house. These numbers, three, four and five, were sacred to many ancient peoples, as the dimensions of the Pythagorean Triangle, in which the square of five, twenty five, is equal to the sum of the squares of four and three, or sixteen and nine. Knowledge of this triangle was essential to builders; you are also a builder-you are building your character.”

PRIESTESS:
“I now direct your attention to the several lights surrounding us, in the East, South, West, and North. Let us now examine these lights, and see what we can discern within them of human character.”
“In the building of character, the Eastern light is denoted the Lamp of Beauty, and stands for accomplishments; for learning, skill in art, poetry, in song and instrumental music, in painting and sculpture. It exemplifies the art of making one’s self attractive to those about one. It is an old saying that ‘Beauty is as Beauty does’. It causes great distress to see these noble graces of character prostituted to ignoble ends. Remember well the lesson of the Lamp of Beauty and accept the blessing of the East.”

Initiate is censed with incense from the censer which has been previously placed in the East.

PRIEST:
“The light in the South is denoted the Lamp of Life, and stands for individuality, and for energy; for fervency, for zeal and vitality. It exemplifies passions, desires and appetites. It means loves and hates, sympathies and abhorrences, and what is more than all the rest of these, it means heart and joy in the work of life. Remember well the lesson of the Lamp of Life and accept the blessing of the South.”

Initiate is circled three times with the brazier, previously placed in the South.

PRIESTESS:
“Look now to the West, and observe the Lamp of Compassion, which stands for ‘fellow-feeling’. Every work in life demands a price. Labor, tears, self-denial, self-recrimination, the very blood of life is sometimes the price of a truly great work. Look to your fellow travellers on the road; note with care what sacrifice they have made in their progress toward the truth; allow them their faults, commiserate with them in their failures and rejoice with them when they succeed. Remember well the lesson of the Lamp of Compassion and accept the blessing of the West.”

Initiate is circled three times with water and his/her hands washed in a laving bowl, previously placed in the West.

PRIEST:
“Look now to the North, and observe the lamp of obedience. The laws of the Gods are inevitable, and the more we, as children of the Gods, understand and work in accordance with them, the greater is the sum of our happiness. Obedience in character means order, the subjection to one’s principles, the fear to do wrong, and the desire to learn and do right. Many would rather give charity than do justice. They swell with emotion, weep with sentiment, howl with the mob, so long as their own particular little tyranny or injustice is not touched. The Lamp of Obedience exemplifies firm will and determination of character, in spite of difficulties, dangers and losses. So also the Lamp of Obedience stands for self-control, perseverance and prudence. In time of peace, prepare for war; when shines the sun, expect the cloud; and in darkness wait patiently for the coming light. ‘When all the sky is draped in black and beaten by tempestuous gales, and the shuddering ship seems all awreck, calmly trim once more the tattered sail, repair the broken rudder and set again for the old determined course.’ Remember well the lesson of the Lamp of Obedience and accept now the blessing of the North.”

Initiate’s hands are marked with damp earth from a bowl in the North. Initiate is then led back south of the altar.

PRIESTESS:
“Of the character thus illuminated and thus guided by the lights here on the altar, and by the Lamps of Beauty, Life, Compassion and Obedience, it may be said, ‘Though the world perish and fall away, he/she remains.”

Initiate then takes the Oath/Obligation, kneeling.

“In the names of Arianhrod and Bran; Diana and Appolyon; Heartha and Cernunnos; and by the powers of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, I, __________________, pledge to love, worship and honor the Goddess in her many aspects; and her Consort, the Horned One, Lord of Death and Ruler of Chaos; to always be true to the Art and its secrets; to never abuse the Art or my own powers; and to keep this pledge always in my heart, in my mind, in my body and in my spirit. This I pledge, by the Circle of Life, by Cerridwen’s Sacred Cauldron and by my own hopes of a future life.”

Initiate stands. High Priestess places a necklace over Initiate’s head.

PRIESTESS:
“The Circle is a place between the worlds and outside time. The Circle is also the Symbol of Life, Death and Rebirth. We wear the necklace as a token of the Sacred Circle and as a sign that we are part of all it symbolizes.”

High Priest strikes the bell three times.

PRIEST:
“Hear ye, Lady of Life and Lord of Death! Hear ye, Ancient Guardians of the Powers of Air, Fire, Water and Earth! In this place, by our hands and will, ___________________, known to us as _______________, has been duly pledged and anointed a Priest/ess of the Second Degree!”

This is a ceremony we have used a couple of times (with variations to suit the candidate) for the second degree initiation. You will note that it borrows from many sources: Masonic, Gardnerian, Celtic and Flight of Fancy. We’ve done it robed, skyclad and some interesting combinations. Seems to work OK either way. If the candidate has done the work, the initiation ceremony is more of a public “rite of passage” or recognition of that fact… the real “initiation” is between the Gods and the candidate, and therefore cannot really be “conferred”.

What is a Pagan and Paganism?

pagan20pride What is a Pagan and Paganism? What is a Pagan? There is no straight forward answer as it has several different meanings depending on the context in which it is used. The most widely accepted definitions of both Pagan and Paganism derive from the Latin word paganus meaning “rustic’, “of the country” or “rural”. Even this is not considered the only definition of a Pagan as it can be considered a skunk word, which means that it has a different meaning to different people.

The most common usage is associated with any religion that is non-Abrahamic. Neither Christian, Muslim or Jew. That would make roughly 45% of the world’s population Pagans. Needless to say those 45% are not likely to class themselves as Pagans although some would.

The term Pagan is also used in a derogatory fashion. People to hate or unbelievers. The main religions of the world have frequent references to unbelievers within their religious scripts, more commonly referred to as a heathen. Since the seventeenth century heathen has oftentimes been replaced by Pagan.

To Pagans it simply means those who practice a nature based religion. Neopagans are newer religions tracing their beginnings to the 20th century, but their roots much farther back, and they do refer to themselves as Pagans. Druids, Witches and Wiccans are some examples of the followers of Neopaganism.

Christianity has also been seen as Pagan by other Abrahamic religions and between different Christian religions. These accusations come largely from the practice of christianization which adopts others beliefs into Christianity. This is seen by the practice of celebrating Pagan feasts such as halloween or easter.

As you can see, answering a simple question such as What is a Pagan? is actually far from being easy as it has diverse meanings throughout the world.

A way of casting a circle

MagicCircleL 150x150 A way of casting a circleBefore casting a circle gather all your ingredient and tools and place them in your centre, I would normally set up my altar at this time. Double check that the phone is off the hook and that you have everything that you require.

Opening or breaking a circle is a bit of a bone of contention between many Wiccan’s and some other neo pagan paths. From my own personal view no circle should be cast with knowledge that you’re going to have to leave it. But if for some reason you have to leave then a door way can be cut open and closed. I feel that for group workings that a circle should never be broken and it is you have to start again, if it keeps happening your being told that you should not being doing what your planning to do. For solitary witches and Wiccan’s and other neo pagans this is slightly different a solitary witches home will become a temple that is filled with wards and protection items and for myself a solitary witch who has a dog who loves to join in energy rising Casting a circle that remains unbroken can nigh on be an impossibility unless I lock the dog away which I will not do.

The way around having a circle broken can be solved simply the first is cast the circle so it is large enough to encompass the whole house or flat so everything is contained within including the phone the second is how you view a circle, a circle is really not a circle but a sphere the circle you cast is around the diameter of the sphere once the quarters and deities have been call the circle and the space their in encompasses two worlds it does not full exist here on the mortal plain or fully in the spirit realm so if a pet or child crosses the boundary line it cant be break because it not in this realm, no matter what your views are on breaking a circle we will continue with how to cast a circle. And this is only one way there are many different ways depending on traditions.

No matter whether your using a wand, drugstore Athame or even your finger start by standing in the centre of the circle facing North east and raise your hand (right hand if right handed left hand if left handed) and point your Wand, Athame or finger and visualise the energy leaving the tip reaching out to the edge of you circle.

Then turn slowly to the east, tracing out the edge of the circle continue turning and tracing through south and west the back to north. This should be three times each time more energy is pour in to the circle. Once the circle is formed spend a few moments with Athame, wand or finger still point north-east create another circle by rising up and over head producing an arch from north-east to south-east then continuing around until your back at north east visualising the sphere formed.

A simple incantation or complete formal calling of the quarters can be done now I find that some rituals or spells require a simple incantation such as “to this circle I invite the goddess and god to watch, guide and protect this ritual I invite the forces of dark and light to help me do what is right and the elemental forces to lend their energies to this rite”

You will need to insure that your circle is big enough to complete you working including space to dance and move. Some neo pagans get very anal over circle size but having lived in a bed-sit you learn you learn that if you have four foot of free floor space no matter how skill you are at magicks you cant create a circle that is 9foot in diameter. Basic rule of thumb for circle casting make it big enough for your need if you make it to small stand in the centre of the circle take a deep breath in and as you exhale push the edge of the circle outwards to it reaches a desired size if to big for need use the same technique but on the intake of breath pull the circle towards the centre.

When you create your first circle you will notice a few things the energy inside a circle will make you feel tingly or a little buzzed, the circle temperature will be a little warmer that ambient room temperature you might find your self removing clothing or even working Skyclad. You may even get the feeling that you being observed this is very natural many spiritual beings will be drawn to the light of your circle they will not harm you as they can not pass through the circle many will watch for a short while before passing by.

Once you have complete your spell or ritual you will need to un-cast your circle the first thing you must thank the goddess and god for their presence a simple hale and farewell will do if quarters where called these need to be dismissed.

Then face north-east point your, Wand, Athame or finger using the opposite hand you used to cast the circle and visualise the energy if the circle flowing back into Wand, Athame or finger slowly move to the counter clockwise drawing all the energy back until you have complete untraced the circle edge.

I would normal raise my arms palms facing out so I am in a cross position and would say a simple incantation such as “ this circle is now open I once thank those that attended and to those that looked on go in peace this ritual in now complete hail and farewell”

Circle casting complete.

Celestine Prophecy insights

thougt 150x150 Celestine Prophecy insightsNow we can all hear the world screaming at the moment as we move into another age and every time someone mentions how bad the world is I hear their hearty felt calls for peace.

Now I claim no mystic insight but when I was born my father a Jew looked at me and said he’s been here before and he always reminds me of the wisdom I hold now I know that I have lived on this realm before things are so familiar. I know in my heart where we going as a species and I am often saddened that we have failed to reach our potential.

I also know that there are souls as old as mine carving a path through this world as well as older and much wiser souls exist sharing information to younger souls in mediums in formats they can understand.

Now the formats that older souls use to communicate depend on the social and economical developments of the time. During our history we have used the spoken word to pass information on but verbal communication is open to the effect of Chinese whispers (the original message is distorted by person to person).

But as we have grown the way wisdom is communicated has change too sometimes it comes in a sentence in a film or TV series that cause us to think in a new way. For others it the written word that one book that changes our life for the better or at the very least helps us find a new way…

Now one such book was the Celestine Prophecies it contained none insights a sort of map to the divine (it agreed it was incomplete so came up with the 10th,11th 12th etc insight) although a book of fiction held some great wisdom. Now the Celestine Prophecies is fiction but with all fiction it has some roots in fact so good fiction should hold the reader in a state where they are balanced between what is real or could be and what is made up.

Now when I first read and then saw the film of the Celestine Prophecies I new a greater truth was hidden and now we face a new age I feel that its time to remind ourselves of the insights.

If you have not read or seen it’s a must it does help you to develop.

The insights

  1. The awareness begins with a feeling of restlessness – an inner urging to find more meaning in life. As we respond to this inner prompting we begin to notice the “chance coincidences” – strange synchronistic events in our life. We begin to realize that some underlying process is operating our life.
  2. We take a look at the evolution of consciousness (thought) of humankind, and we begin to see everything in a larger prospective. We become conscious of our preoccupation with the material world and begin to seek a deeper meaning and purpose to our lives.
  3. We begin to see our connectedness. We become aware of the subtle energy that infuses all things and the relationship we have with that energy. By consciously becoming co-creators and choosing what we think we can have a positive effect on our world.
  4. We unconsciously compete for energy from other people and this competition underlies all conflicts. As we begin to become aware of these power struggles, we learn that there is, in Reality, no lack of energy – there is another Greater Source of endless energy.
  5. The key to overcoming conflict is tapping into the Greater Source through the mystical experience. In this experience we sense our connectednss and oneness with everything. This experience is available to everyone, as we allow ourselves to be filled with a sense of love.
  6. Childhood traumas block our ability to fully experience the mystical. All of us carry wounding and false messages from our past. As we get in touch with our own personal control issues we can begin healing the blocks of our past and transcending them.
  7. Once cleared of our past traumas, we can build energy through contemplation and meditation. As we focus on our basic life question, we receive the guidance we need through intuition, dreams, and synchronistic connections that guide us in the direction of our own evolution and transformation.
  8. Evolution can’t be done alone, so practice uplifting those who cross your path. We are here to support and teach each other. Release addictive relationships, and integrate and embrace all parts of yourself, so that you become a whole person.
  9. Our purpose here is to evolve consciously. As our planet evolves through greater technology we are freed up to spend more time to evolve spiritually. As we spend more time connecting with our Higher Source we experience a higher vibratory energy which nurtures ourselves, each other, and our planet. We eventually connect with God’s energy in such a way that we become beings of light and the kingdom of heaven is manifested here on earth.

My First harvest

lughnasadh 150x150 My First harvestMost of my pagan friends will tell you that me and gardening is not a true match in fact a pagan friend of mine (someone who is now running their own coven) was told that I had spent weeks designing my garden to which he replied why did it take him so long to draw a square and write concrete ‘LOL’.

I always lived in London and gardening was a luxury but since I move out in to the middle of the country I have wanted improve my pagan practices with getting back to ground roots pagan life I could not cope with the “good life” (tv version) of going totally self sufficient but I did want to be able to grow a few herbs for spell and potions and some fruit over the last few years I have not had much success (explains the concrete comment), I have had the dog dig them up, slugs and caterpillars eat them and the frost kill them and the few bit that have survived have been never in time for any ritual or rite.

But this year I have managed to grow stuff that will be ready for the 1st august it not much I have 1 melon a few raspberries a few black currents and 4 or five broad bean come on don’t laugh I know it not much.

This will be the first year that I will be able to perform a harvest ritual where the harvest will be a physical act, will be able to decorate my altar with something that I have grown and harvested on the day.

As I sit and write my ritual for the 1st August I am so aware that the physical act of the harvest plays such an important of the day, in previous years my harvest was the things that I was successful at I would metaphorically harvest them and use them as seed to grow more successful. Which in its own way lead me to the understanding that my spiritual needs where becoming less important that working daily life part of the reason I moved to the country. I started to realise that I had become caught up in the city and was losing my connection to nature so about 10 or so years ago I decide that I need to be in Dorset or should buy without a prescription I say the lady herself sent signs that I need to be in Dorset so I moved to Bournemouth which was much like the city and although I had the sea to connect with it still was not quite right, it was only when I move to where I am at present did everything full in to place.

Everything we do in that end up harvested sometimes we receive a bounty other times we end up with something that is rotten and spoilt but no matter what we receive we must accept our part in it creation and accept our responsibilities fairly and with understanding.

I hope that by reading this that you will think of the things you have harvested and work into your ritual something that will help you gain a stronger connection to the life the divine has provided you.

Book Banned Due to Wiccan Theme

sweep1 199x300 Book Banned Due to Wiccan ThemeThe [wikipedia]Stabenfeldt publishing house[/wikipedia] has decided it will not publish the Sweep series of books in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, following an outcry over content related to the because it contains content that relates to the Wicca religion.

The Books, which are fantasy in nature, were to have been targeted at children aged 9 to 13 in Finland, Norway, and Sweden.  The printers have all ready received the first part.

[wikipedia]Leena Rauhala[/wikipedia] a MP for Christian Democratic Party submitted a written question to the government on Friday, stating the view that the books should not be published in Finland.

Rauhala also mentioned that the content of the book, including drug use, nudity, smoking, alcohol, and strong language.

The publisher has removed the references to tobacco and alcohol, as well as the strongest language from the translation. As for drug use, the publisher said that the books portrayed illegal drugs in a negative light.

The Wicca religion proved to be the deciding factor in the matter.

“We do not want to promote any individual religion or political ideology in the books that we target toward children”, says the publisher’s CEO [wikipedia]Jens Otto Hansen[/wikipedia].

He said that the publisher was not familiar with [wikipedia]Wicca[/wikipedia].

“I only learned on Monday morning that such a thing as Wicca exists.”

Hansen sees the case as an “industrial accident” for the publisher.

“Our own routines have failed in this. We have acted too quickly.”

Hansen himself learned about the [wikipedia]Wiccan[/wikipedia] content only on Monday, but admits that already last week one of the company’s employees had raised the issue of the books’ content.

“Clearly one of our employees has raised the issue outside our company as well. It is not pleasant for our matters to come into the public eye in this manner.”

Hansen does not agree with Ms Rauhala point of but has withdrawing the book from the publishers

“An enthusiastic politician has latched on to this and tried to turn it into something different. I cannot share her views in any way.”

Hansen has made it very clear that he made the decision of his own back

“We are not forced by those who want to protect their own beliefs any more by those who want to advance freedom of expression. We decide ourselves what kinds of products to produce.”

Written by [wikipedia]Cate Tiernan[/wikipedia], the Sweep series comprises 15 novels for young people. The main character is an American teenage girl by the name of Morgan Rowlands, who learns that she is a witch. In the series she is searching for her place in a new type of world. The original series was published in 2001-2003.

It has appeared in the United States, Britain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Australia, Italy, and France.
