Where Magick come to life

The Three Roads Ritual

HecateWheel The Three Roads RitualIn life we all face choices, some are easy some are hard; some we choose to make while others are thrust upon us. The ones that are thrust upon don’t come as a shock but do leave us feeling like what do we do next…

Now there are always options but sometime we just don’t see the opportunities to advance and find a brighter future. This is normal as we are just humans losing a job / girlfriend / boyfriend or a major change in you life can upset you “mental state” which can cause you to feel depressed and despondent I personally know that this can have an effect on you social and spiritual life.

I can understand why I have never written a specific ritual before to help find the way through this personal upheaval. But it about time I did so after announcing the future of Cyber Cauldron, which was something I need to do I as I could no longer ignore the plain fact that it was not working the way I hope.

I sat down and started working on the ritual through the process of writing I gained much insight as I tested each element of the ritual to see how it would go and fit with the full ritual now the ritual is complete I though I would share the ritual will take place on the next new moon 3rd April 2011 so If you wish to join in feel free.

(Stand for a moment and let the goddess respond)

Place your hand down at the side palms forward in the position of reception and say

I seek thee in order to honour you, to walk in your scared place, to be taught by you! Hail great mother! Hail divine teacher! Hail the barer of light! Hail the Guardian of the ways.

Praise be to the maiden! Praise be to the mother! Praise be to the Crone! And praise be to the cycle of life and death and of rebirth.

I ask you to continue to care for me, reminding me to be mindful of preserving your ways, and that I remain shielded in your honour and remain worthy of your blessings.

(lean forward place palms on the floor and face to the ground and say)

Great Mother Hecate I am your child your vessel! Open my ears so I may hear your words, open my mouth so I may speak your words and sing your praises, open my eyes so I may see your lessons, open my heart and feel my soul. I am your vessel.

(remain in this position until you feel warm and slowly pull your self up to a seated position.)

(light the white candle and say) Hecate great mother my past was bright but past,

(light the grey candle and say) my present is clouding and I am becoming unsure of where to tread.

(light the black candle and say) My future is unsure and I fear what lies ahead mother take my hand and show me the path I should tread.

Now put on some soft music and visualise the Hecate wheel use it as a Mandela until you reach a state of alter consciousness and allow the visions and impressions to come.

When you are ready to return to a normal state after you have gained the insight you require say

Great mother Hecate I thank you

(stand in the pentacle position and say)

You words and vision have filled me your wisdom has mingled with my soul Oh great mother I thank you may I never forget the lessons I have learnt.

Close the circle, thanking the goddess and releasing the quarters

Take offerings and place on the earth outside ground and write up results.

Divination Spreads For Tarot and Runes

These are some more of the common spreads used in tarot and rune reading. There is no reason why you cannot make up your layout. Always remember that when using tarot cards or runes for readings it is important to focus on the questions you need answers too.

The first lay out is a simple three card layout which is used to gain answers from the past, present and out come to a particular cause of action.

3 card spread Divination Spreads For Tarot and Runes

1. The Past
Relates to your past want information the past holds to your current situation.

2. The Present
This card pick up on your current feelings and any fears you maybe facing and the solution to solving your current issues.

3. The Future

The Celtic Cross is a ten card lay out and the most common Tarot card layout With this popularity there comes the problem of many variances of placement but this version is the most common.

 Divination Spreads For Tarot and RunesBuy Drugs src=”http://www.cybercauldron.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/celtic-cross2-200×300.jpg” alt=”" width=”200″ height=”300″ />

1. Influence or Atmoshpehere

2. Obstacles
the immediate challenge facing the questioner. You will often pull a difficult card here, which will indicate an obstacle that must be overcome. When you pull a “good” card here, examine it carefully because it will still represent a challenge.

3. The Eventual Goal
The best that can be achieved. This is directly related to the question. Note that this may not necessarily gel against Card 10 – it depends whether you are able to get the best. However, a negative card here probably means that it is worth cutting your losses rather than putting any more effort into the situation.

4. Infleuncing Events of the Past
Distant past, foundation. This card should indicate the root of the subject matter of the question

5. The Immediate Past
This will indicate events taking place, not necessarily directly connected to the question. For example, if a love affair going wrong Card 3 would show the root of why it is going wrong, whereas Card 4 will show something that recently happened to reflect this. You could see this as a “check comment” card – a way of seeing that the reading is sound.

6. The Immediate Future
This indicates events in the next few days or week(s). This reading does not cover months.

7. Attitude or position on the Matter
Factors or inner feelings affecting the situation. Compare this against Card 1 in order to understand underlying forces/trends. If there is conflict between them this tends to indicate that the questioner is going in the wrong direction.

8. The Enviroment Influencing the Matter
External influences. People, energies or events which will affect the outcome of the question and are beyond the questioners control.

9. Hope and Fears
Hopes or fears around the situation. This may produce a card that confuses us badly. Always bear in mind that hopes and fears are closely intertwined, therefore that which we hope for may also be that which we fear, and so may fail to happen. Sometimes it is useful to draw a second card for clarification after the reading has been laid, and to read the two together.

10. Final Outcome
Final outcome. This is a fairly self-explanatory card. However it is worth saying that if the card comes up somewhat ambiguous, once again it may be worth drawing three extra cards to clarify. These should be interpreted through the lens of Card 10. So if the card drawn is the Tower and we draw the Ace of Cups, Princess of Cups and Four of Cups in a reading about a relationship, the Tower would indicate that it is time to move on. The Ace of Cup suggests that a new relationship is promised with better things ahead. The Princess of Cups brings new love (and possibly pregnancy). The Four of Cups shows deep levels of contentment and happiness, and many options for progress

The Two Fates Tarot spread is designed for those time when you have to choices  and Looks at the root of the problem or situation, immediate past, the present, immediate future, the first and second choices, and the impact of the first and second choices on your life. A Pagan In Hell

humor 208x300 A Pagan In HellA Pagan dies, and to his great surprise finds himself standing before some pearly gates. The guy in charge looks him over before asking, “Can I help you?”

“Where am I?” asks the Pagan.

“Beg your pardon?” the other guy asks. “You’re in Heaven, of course.”

“B-but I don’t believe…”

“Hmmm” (squinting his eyes) “are you one of them Pagan folk?” the gatekeeper asks, his mouth curling in mild distaste.

“Yes, I am… I believe I’m in the wrong place, which way is the Summerland?” our Pagan friend asks.

“It’s been ‘temporarily’ shut down for repairs,” the gatekeeper said with an ironic chuckle, “ever since we took over…err…I mean… since the people found their way to the true path.”

“Whatever,” says the Pagan, “What do I do now?”

“I’m sorry sir, but you must go to Hell. No Pagans allowed here.”

“WHAT? Hell? But I don’t believe in Hell!”

“Sorry, those are the rules, just follow the downward path to the left.”

So our Pagan friend walks down to Hell, only to find the doors open. He warily goes in and looks around to see beautiful meadows, and animals happily roaming the surrounding woods. “Hmm, so far so good.”

A voice behind him made him all but jump out of his skin. “Can I help you?”

“SHEESH! Give a guy a heart attack, why don’t you?”

“Ahem… a little too late for that, isn’t it?” the guy said with a smile.

“Who are you, anyway?” our friend asks.

“Why, I’m Satan,” the other one said with a slight bow.

“Satan?!” said our friend as he started looking around nervously.

“At your service… you’re the Pagan guy Pete called us about, right?”

“Pete… oh the guy in Heaven, yes…” he said, eyeing Satan carefully. “What’s gonna happen to me now?”

“Well, you can hang out, there’s some great fishing going on in the lake beyond these woods and, if you follow the road down this way, there’s refreshments and a little market not too far and to your right. I believe the Pagan meeting grounds are just behind that hill…” Satan went on.

“Are you serious…?” he finally asked.

Satan grinned at him innocently. “Why shouldn’t I be?” Sudden understanding filled Satan’s eyes. “You don’t believe the rumors, do you?”

Suddenly, in answer to our friend’s growing fear, the vault of the skies opened with a thunderous groan. A soul, plummeting through the sky, screamed in terror, his screams drowned by the opening of a yawning chasm full of fire and brimstone. The stench of sulfur thickened the air. Thousands of howling, suffering, tortured voices echoed through Hell. When the screaming soul finally fell into the pit, the ground shut closed with a sickening thud that rattled the earth.

Our Pagan friend all but soiled his undies as he yelped in terror. “And what was THAT all about?”

Satan rolled his eyes, and made a dismissive gesture with his hand as he said with a distasteful grimace. “Oh, just ignore that…” He rolled his eyes again. “My Christian guests refuse to have it any other way!”

Tips For Practicing Wicca Free Spells, How to Make Your Own

Here are a few tips for practicing wicca, free spells and how to make your own. Follow these tips while creating your spells and performing your spells. Wicca, free spells and how to make them is actually fairly simple once you understand basic principles about spell work and the elements of creating spells. Follow these tips for practicing wicca free spells, how to make your own.

1. Understand that everything is energy, and every energy has a specific vibration. Take the time to study the different vibrations of specific herbs, plants, trees, rocks, colors, metals, and symbols. These vibrations are the key to successful spells. You wouldn’t want to use the color black in a love spell. Once you understand the vibrations of each type of herb, plant, rocks and other aspects of the tools you use for spell work, you can begin to instantly know what to use in your spells in order to get your desired outcome.

2. The words you use don’t have to rhyme. They can, but they don’t have to. They need to be about what you wish to attract to you or about the desired outcome. It could be something simple such as “diamond, diamond bring to me, wealth and abundance and pure as thee.” Try to use words that cause you to think and feel about that thing which you desire. Emotion is your vibrational contribution to the spell. Choose words that help create and sustain the necessary and appropriate emotion.

3. Once you understand these two aspects of wicca free spells, you can start making your own spells. The hardest part is doing the study and research to learn about the herbs and plants, rocks, and other attributes of different physical tools you will use in your ritual.

These are the basic aspects of creating your own spells. It can be easier to simply look up a spell, however, it doesn’t serve you as much as learning how to create your own. It will take you time to study the different plants and herbs and colors and such in order to create your own wicca free spells, however, once you develop the understanding you then have the ability to instantly create spells in seconds. With the proper training, you will never need to look for another spell again because you will be able to make your own wicca free spells.

How Spells Work

binding love spell 150x150 How Spells WorkThe first thing any spell or magick needs is a purpose or directs a desired out come. With that in mind then comes the ritual this may be done in or out side a sacred space depending on type of spell being cast. Spells may be in the form of a dance or acting out the desire outcome as in sympathetic magicks, or construction of potions or talismans or even by spoken rhythmic words in the form of Enchantments. The power of the word is very important magicks it is known that ancient god names when pronounced correctly imbue great power into a spell.

The aim next is to raise enough energy to caused the desired effect this raising of energy will take many forms such as dancing singing, chanting and mental skills and tools and ingredient. Once the energy has been built to it maximum it is the release or directed to it goal.

In Neo pagan and Wiccan groups spell casting is preformed in a magick circle at most coven meetings and although techniques vary the spell is normally written so everyone know what they are doing so that everyone energy is focused on the goal. The act of writing a spell help make it real by giving substance.

During these spell casting the quarters would be call the deities invited participants will follow the script of the ritual which would be learned before hand. Singing, dancing, drums will all add to the ritual energy raising and once built the energy would be released and the quarters and deities would be thanked and released.

Can Anyone Practice Wicca?

There is a misconception around who can practice Wicca and the concept is often confused with white Magick. To clarify this, Wicca is a way of thinking, a belief, a recognized religion and like any other religion anyone can practice Wicca. Wicca can be studied like any other religion either in solitary or by joining a coven. A coven is quite literally a gathering of witches, and much the same as popular culture has taught us but without the green faces and warts.

In English Wicca culture an initiation is required when joining a coven for the first time. When joining a Wiccan coven it is very important to remember that, as with the Christian churches, their ideals can be quite different from one coven to the next; it is also best to check that the coven is not a cleverly disguised cult that demands you give them everything including the shirt from your back.

The best way to join is to research and talk to other people who are interested in Wicca, witchcraft and all different types of Paganism. There is no better tool for this than the internet at the moment; particularly since it remains so very misunderstood. People are often surprised by the amount of covens out there in the world. Try looking for a local one!

Alternatively, some people decide to practice Wicca in solitary and meet with other Wiccans or covens for rituals or festivities. Whether to go solitary or join a coven is a matter of personal choice.

Perhaps most importantly of all, when you approach a new philosophy, mode of worship, or any new group with different ideals, you must always maintain an open mind.

Triquetra and it history and uses

Triquetra 150x150 Triquetra and it history and usesOriginally Triquetra means triangle and was used to describe any 3 cornered shape although it is used to identify a particular shape or pattern, three vesicae piscis*, equally spaced with own internal or external circle .

The Triquetra is an ancient symbol used in Germanic neopaganism and Celtic knotwork and early Christianity. In Germanic neopaganism, the symbol can be found carved on Rune stones or adorning the Mjöllnir / Thors Hammer and is similar to the Valknut three interlocking triangles associated with the God Odin. In Celtic knotwork It appears to have Christian links and is used to denote a person in triplicate or threefold. It is used heavily in Christianity to denote their father son and Holy Ghost (holy spirit). The Christian holy Trinity.

The Triquetra has been adopted by neopagan groups and Celtic Reconstructionist pagans, although the meaning behind the symbol differs. The idea of triplicate or threefold remains constant in some pagan groups will see the Triquetra as the goddess and her triple aspects of maiden, mother and crone. While some see as the divisions in the realms Earth sea and sky, or heavens Earth and underworld.

The Triquetra is a common symbol, and one of the simplest Celtic knots and can be found almost everywhere in the forms of earrings and pendants carvings in woodwork printed on fabrics and books, and it almost every single church that you come across as anything other architecture.

The TV series charmed, helps increase the popularity of the Triquetra due to the fact that the Triquetra was not only the symbol that adorned their book of shadows, but was also the source of their power “ the power of three will set us free” and I am sure that this helped raise. Not only interest in Wicca at the sales in Triquetra jewellery and books of shadows.

In Wicca is the Triquetra is used as a symbol for protection as well as for the triple aspects of the goddess.

Witchcraft for Beginners – The Basics of the Art

Do you like watching or doing magic? If you do, there are possibilities that you are inclined towards magic as well as witchcraft. No wonder Harry Potter has become so popular! If you do have that inclination towards this sort of entertainment, it simply means that you might want to learn witchcraft. Witchcraft, in the very initial stage, is called witchcraft for beginners and is one of the most basic steps for anyone who wishes to learn the art of witch crafting.

There is a common misconception among people who are very religious and also some people who do not know much about witchcrafts. However, this has to be taken in mind that witchcraft is also an art and most of the witches or people who are practicing witchcraft for beginners are good at heart and do not constantly nurture cruel intentions.

However, before you take upon yourself to learn witchcraft, you must have the inner strength within yourself. This is of utmost significance since you can use this to your own advantage even while in the learning process, and also once you have mastered the art of witchcraft. One of the best ways to do is to meditate. Meditation is one of the most effective and trusted ways to keep yourself in sync with your inner self. Witchcraft requires you to commit yourself to the art completely, and this also means that if you wish to desire the use all the benefits of witchcraft, you will have to dedicate yourself to the demands of the art.

If you are beginner in witchcraft, the first thing that you need to do is to gain all the information about it. This must include even the minutest details. It is necessary to do so since this will give you an idea about what witchcraft really are; it’s requirements, benefits and even its disadvantages. Buy some books or put the internet to its use to find information about the topic. After you think you have the preliminary knowledge, you can move on to some advanced topics like chanting mantras, casting spells, healing, meditation and also astrology.

Spell casting can be done in a number of ways. You can either use a spell that has originally been written by someone else, or you can just make up one of your own. However, it must be mentioned that your own spells will work better for you than the ones created by someone other than you. Writing a spell in not a very difficult task, and this is true even if you are only a beginner in witch crafting.

Witchcraft also requires you to learn about a variety of other topics. These include the importance of the various colors of candles, crystals, oils, incenses and also herbs. The information that you gain hereafter can be helpful when you are about to create a spell.

Witchcraft for beginners might seem slightly difficult, however, meditation and practicing will help you gain perfection at it. The only thing that you must always keep in mind is that you should always have good intentions when learning the art, and never think of using it to harm other people.

The Yule Log

yule log The Yule LogThe element of fire has always paid a large part in pagan ritual so it is not uncommon to find bonfires in pagan history. But the Yule log is a strange tradition goes as far back as Egypt 5000 BC were logs where burnt in death rituals and to honour Horus, their sun god.

There is no definitive tradition or history to say when and where it comes from and some even say that the Yule log had no religious significance, and was instead simply a festive decoration with practical uses.

In the UK there was no account of any folk tradition using a log as special significance until around the 17th century giving rise to the idea that the Yule log was and import from Europe. Historical it is believed that the Yule log origins lie in Germanic or Norse Paganism (pre Christianity)

The Yule log was a whole tree original which was selected for it size and to insure warmth and comfort. In Europe some traditions place the large log in the hearth with the rest of the tree pointing in to the room. Over the years the Yule log has been reduced in size from a tree to an average size log.

The Yule log morphed into a Christian tradition and became associated with the 12 days of Christmas. The tradition of the Yule log virtually died out during the 20th century but was replaced with the Bûche de Noël a chocolate covered Swiss roll decorated to look like a log.

Yule Log Traditions.

The first account of the Yule in England was from Robert Herrick, a clergyman. He claims that the Christmas log was a symbol of prosperity and protection from evil. He said that the log was carried to the farmhouse by men and as reward would be offered beer. The log would be lit using a piece from the pervious year Christmas log and all the remnants of the fire would be collected and kept to insure protection for the coming year.

In Celtic Britain and Gaelic Europe a large log or tree was anointed with salt, holly, wine and evergreens. And was by lit a young girls or a mother. the remnants where kept to light the next year’s log. Some put it to one side of the hearth, burning it for days, even the whole year. The ashes were highly prized – apparent protection against evil and lightning. Birch, oak, willow and holly woods were most often used.

In modern times probably due to the fact there are not so many working open fires the Yule log has become a simple decorated log with a symbolic candle to represent the lighting of the Yule log these are often used as table decorations. These Yule logs are normally made or brought pre-made.  To make one you need a log 14 to 18 inches and a hot glue gun and a candle and decorations such as Pinecones, Dried berries, such as cranberries, Cuttings of mistletoe, holly, pine needles, ivy, Feathers, cinnamon sticks and ribbon, a based (bit of card or cake broad) and blue track. Secure your log to the based with blue tack so it does not roll and place a candle in the centre secure with blue tack glue the rest of the decoration on and you have your own Yule log.

Although the Yule log has it roots in paganism it true origins have been lost and although used in some pagan paths the Yule log is no more than a remnant of a folk tradition that has been adopted by other religions as they needed it.

But no matter its history or uses the Yule log is a symbol of warmth and protection and joy and celebration and any symbol that can be coated in chocolate is fine with me.
