We are the children who dance in moonlight, we are the women of pain the women and of strength! We are not a gender we are as much the men of battles as the sons of war. We are life! Raw and exposed! Our pains are as deep as our joys! We battle darkness with darkness while embracing the light. We help and heal! We should not push another aside because our beliefs dictate we should! We should embrace and share our common ground! To create a field of beauty where all may dance! Where the shadows of discrimination will never fall Brightest blessings Draco )o(/|\

    Attract a Partner Ritual
Spell Date: Friday, March 15, 2013
    Color of the day: White
    Incense of the day: Dill

If any of your recent romantic partnerships were fraught with negativity and bitterness and ended with regret, use this ritual to attract a mate who is right for you and likely to be your soulmate. Apply intuition and common sense when dating new people. Use logic rather than letting the heart run amuck. Resist the temptation to fall head over heels until you’ve had a chance to get to know the person. A compatible partner is not one who causes heartache, harm, or provocation. Write down on a piece of paper a personal affirmation about not falling for troublesome types with unusually fiery temperaments, self-serving tendencies, and a history of abusiveness. Be concise with your wording, and when you are satisfied cut nine squares from a large piece of paper. Write the same affirmation on each piece. Every evening, dab basil oil on the four corners of the paper and burn it at your altar on a heat-proof dish. Bury the remains a few miles away from your home.

    Kala Ermou Tetras!

Today (March 15) coincides with the fourth day of the month of Elaphebolion.

The fourth day of every month is a holy time in which we celebrate the Ermou Tetras – Hermes's day commemorating his birth on a fourth day and his four gifts to mankind: Logos (speech), Agon (Contest), the musical scale and geometry

The fourth day is also sacred to Aphrodite, Eros, Herakles, Poseidon, Apollo and Hermaphroditos.

"On the fourth day of the month queenly Maia bare him (Hermes)."
~excerpt from the Homeric Hymn 4 to Hermes

"…the fourth, and the seventh — on which Leto bare Apollo with the blade of gold – each is a holy day"
~ excerpt from Hesiod, Works and Days

"On the fourth and seventh days of each month, he directs mulled wine to be prepared, and going himself to purchase myrtle-wreaths, frankincense and convolvuluses; he returns to spend the day worshiping the statue of Hermaphroditus."
    ~ excerpt from Theophrastus, Characters

Anna Perenna was an old Roman deity of the circle or "ring" of the year, as the name (per annum) clearly indicates. Her festival fell on the Ides of March (March 15), which would have marked the first full moon in the year in the old lunar Roman calendar when March was reckoned as the first month of…

Why Witches Don’t Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

There is a growing debate among those in the Pagan community as to whether or not Pagans should celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Traditionally, St. Patrick’s Day was not celebrated by Pagans because of its history. “St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday set aside to honor St. Patrick, who was responsible for the conversion of Pagan Ireland to Christianity. The wearing of Green, the use of the Shamrock and the eating of pork are all Pagan traditions that were originally done on the Vernal Equinox. The Christians adopted those traditions in an effort to make conversion easier.” explains Michelle Beaufort, a Wiccan Priestess. “Saint Patrick’s color was blue, a color originally used to signify Priesthood.” She explained that since the holiday was really to honor the eradication of Pagan beliefs in Ireland, it was inappropriate for those of Pagan traditions to celebrate it.

But as the world changes, so do the beliefs of its inhabitants. For many, St Patrick’s Day is no longer a day to honor St Patrick, but a day of fun and frolic in general. Its history is near-forgotten. So, some would argue that celebrating the holiday is not an affront to Paganism, but a way to celebrate the old-time traditions in a new and meaningful way. In fact, there is a growing movement to take back the holiday altogether. Says Julie Baker: “I’m wearing green to celebrate the resurgence of Pagan traditions throughout the world, and I’m wearing a Shamrock for its original meaning – to celebrate the Triple Goddess.

Then there are those, who ignore it altogether and focus instead on the coming Equinox. “Ostara is a sacred time. It is a time for new beginnings and a time to honor a change in seasons.” says Meagan Jennings, “I think that’s what we should be focusing on. Not some ridiculous, meaningless holiday.”
