    Herb Magick~

    From: Witch of the Old World Book Herbs
    by: Lady Abigail

    Herb Bennet;

    This thinly growing perennial has bright green colored leaves that reminds me of early spring and it's tiny yellow independent flowers even add the filling. Possibly because I can remember picking them in the early spring and using them as part of, yes it’s true, Spring Tonics. All of a sudden I felt like Granny from the old 60’s TV show, the Beverly Hillbillies.

    Folk Names;
    Avens, Wood Avens, Clove Root, Cole Root and Star of Earth.

    Magickal Powers;
    Protection, Exorcism and Love.

    It is believed that Herb Bennett will increase the potency of love potions made into aphrodisiacs for men and once eaten by American Indians to increase their attractiveness.
    To carry a flower of Herb Bennett with you and keeping in from becoming destroyed will bring you protection while carried. The best way to do this is place it into a small piece of folded paper and place it in your wallet.
    Herb Bennett can be blended with other herbs of exorcism as well as added in spells for purification.

    Medical Uses;

    The green plant itself can be made into broths and added to for
    flavor. The entire Herb Bennett plant can be used in a tonic form to reduce fevers because of its natural ability acts much like quinine.
    Tinctures and infusions made from Herb Bennett are helpful in the treatment of stomach and bowel problems also used to treat diarrhea. Decoctions are used to reduce the swelling and bleeding of hemorrhoids by soaking a cloth and placing it directly on the problem. Teas made from the leaves and flowers of Herb Bennett taken in drink are also used to aid in this problem.
    Infusions with water are gargled and actually help with problems of bad breath and halitosis.
