Share and Print Spells: Healing Moon Chant

Some of these shares are old. Some of just cool, some are fun and some of these have very old spell words and ideas. They are not always going to sound "Wiccan friendly." Remember not all Witches are Wiccan and some of these spells, poems and shares can be older than Wicca.

    Blessings,
    Lady Abigail

The Goddess Herself appears and explains:

"I am nature, the Universal Mother, mistress of all elements, primordial child of time, sovereign of all things spiritual, Queen of the Dead, Queen also of the immortals, the single manifestation of all gods and goddesses that are. My nod governs the shining heights of Heaven, the wholesome sea breezes, the lamentable silences of the world below. Though I am worshipped in many aspects, known by countless names, and propitiated with all manner of different rites, yet the whole round earth venerates me."

The Golden Ass by the Roman writer Apeleius of the 2nd century CE (Common Era), translated by Robert Graves

Good morning everyone I have some requests to ask. Firstly I would like us all to join together to in sending some energy to our brothers and sisters in America who are facing the huge California wildfires let us together calm the element of fire and bring safety to all those it effects.
My second request is to join our energies to bring wisdom to the leaders of the UK and USA and prevent them going to war with Syrian we don’t need our brothers sisters family and friends dying for another war that our “so called” leaders believe is just!
But apart from my small requests may the gods keep you safe and fill your day with light love and laughter Brightest Blessings Draco )o(/|\

    Doorway Apotropaic Magic

People once believed that the doorways and windows of buildings were particularly vulnerable to the entry or passage of evil.

On churches and castles, gargoyles and other grotesque faces and figures such as sheela na gigs and Hunky Punks were carved to frighten away witches and other malign influences.

Similar figures also were carved at fireplaces or chimneys. In some cases, simple geometric or letter carvings were used for these.

When a wooden post was used to support a chimney opening, this was often an easier material for amateur carving. To discourage witchcraft, rowan wood may have been chosen for the post or mantel.

    Notes:
    (1) Apotropaic magic – Magic intended to turn away misfortune, harm or evil influences.
    (2) Sheela na gig – Figurative carvings of naked women displaying an exaggerated vulva.
    (3) Hunky Punk – Somerset dialect for grotesque carvings on the side of buildings, especially churches. Somerset is in the West Country of England.
    (4) Pictured – A 12th-century Sheela na Gig on the church at Kilpeck, Herefordshire
