How to Create a Magical Gem Elixir

A gem elixir is a potion created in a magical or sacred way, which has been infused with the energies of a stone or crystal. Gem elixirs are easy to make and are effective for a variety of purposes, especially for long-term healing
First, you will need to select a stone that suits the goal of your spell and make certain that it is thoroughly cleansed. I've covered cleansing in other posts. The short version is that most – not all – gemstones can be cleansed in a solution of sea salt and water.

You may want to consider one of the following for your gem elixir:
    – Rose Quartz Elixir: to heal a broken heart and learn self love.
    – Obsidian Elixir: to help surrender negative habits and bring about change and clarity.
    – Fluorite Elixir: to awaken the powers of astral projection and enhance spirit journeys, as well as to keep negativity at bay.
    – Agate Elixir: as an aphrodisiac potion – add a couple of drops to your lover's drink, with his or her permission.
    – Citrine Elixir: to help manifest your goals; it attracts abundance and personal power, and helps to keep you cheerful.
    – Lapis Lazuli Elixir: to move through confusion and emotional blocks.
    – Blue Lace Agate Elixir: to help ease the physical effects of stress and tension.
    – Hematite Elixir: for grounding and to help if you're prone to avoiding worldly tasks by out-of-body flight.
    – Emerald Elixir: to help heal the trauma of violence, abuse or rape.
    – Jade Elixir: for serene and calming energy.
    – Amethyst Elixir: to help you tune into a higher awareness of knowing.
    – Sodalite Elixir: to increase your creativity and vision.
    – Turquoise Elixir: to help you learn spiritual lessons through meditation or dream visions.
    – Kyanite Elixir: to facilitate channeling and open communications for contact with your guides and angels

For the best results, every item you plan to use should be cleansed inside your magic circle to avoid introducing any unwanted energies to your spell.

A couple of general rules: (1) Any elixir that will be used for physical purposes or bodily healing should be created with sunlight; and (2) Any elixir that will be used for magical, psychic or mental purposes should be created with moonlight.

You will be leaving the crystal, water and containers outside under the Moon or the Sun, depending upon the type of elixir you are making. You want to let the clear light of the Moon or Sun shine on the stone and the water for at least three hours. It is important that the stone and the water get at least this much time under pure sunlight or moonlight, not just hazy light filtering through the clouds. Aim to make your elixir on clear, cloudless day or night.

Here are the steps for making a gem elixir:

    You will need:
    A glass jar
    A glass bowl
A clear lid or plastic wrap
Rainwater, natural spring water, non-carbonated mineral water or tap water

    1) Nestle the glass jar inside of the glass bowl. Place the cleansed crystal in the bowl next to the jar.

    2) Fill the jar with natural spring water or rainwater if you can. If neither of those are available to you, use bottled non-carbonated mineral water or tap water. Fill the bowl outside the jar with any of these waters.

    3) Place the clear plastic wrap or clear lid atop the bowl and jar to keep out bugs and prevent animals from drinking from it. Don't use a metal lid.

    4) Place the bowl outside for anywhere between 3 hours all the way up to overnight during a Full Moon.

    5) After three hours or the next morning, dispose of the water in the bowl. Transfer the water from the jar into dropper bottles.

    6) If the now-bottled elixir will be used over a long period of time, add one of the following to prevent bacterial growth: apple cider vinegar, vegetable glycerine or brandy (for adults).

    7) For best results, take three to four drops of the gem elixir under your tongue, three times daily for at least a month. Or take three to four drops of the elixir in a glass of water three times a day.

Since this is a magical elixir, doubling your dose will not double the effects. Gem elixirs are designed to be taken in small doses. When you take the elixir, pause for a moment and thank the spirit of the stone for its help.

    (1) Some crystals should not be cleansed with salt, due to possible damage from a chemical reaction. These crystals include: calcite, carnelian, labradorite, lepidolite, malachite, moldavite, opal, turquoise and ulexite.

    (2) Some crystals may fade in sunlight, if left there beyond a few hours. These crystals include: amethyst, ametrine, aquamarine, aventurine, citrine, celestite, chrysoprase, fluorite, kunzite, opal, rose quartz, smokey quartz, topaz and turquoise.

The Witch’s world is rich and rewarding. Now that Witchcraft has “come out of the broom closet” and people around the world are sharing their knowledge openly, the field is growing ever richer. Everyone’s experiences contribute to the development of the whole. Witchcraft and Wicca are not static ideologies; they are constantly evolving, just like the women and men who are part of these wisdom traditions.

Once you put on the Witch’s mantle, your entire perspective will change You’ll never again see the world as you did before. You realize that nothing happens in a vacuum and nothing happens accidentally. You become aware of your connection with all life on Earth and with the Universe, the physical and the nonphysical. You know that your thoughts create your reality and everything you think, feel, and do affects the whole.

Being a Witch means living consciously, in harmony with the rest of existence to the best of your ability. It also involves using your will responsibly to produce the results you desire for yourself and others. According to Aleister Crowley, “Every intentional act is a magical act.” As you move through the world as a Witch, you’ll notice that everyone you meet is your teacher, and you in turn teach something to everyone you meet. Magick transforms you. Magick exists everywhere, all the time. You are part of the Magick.

    Draconic Circle Casting

You'll likely find Draconic Circle casting to be similar to your standard Circle casting, the purpose of which is two-fold: first, to keep the energies you are raising contained until you are ready to release them; and second, to keep out any unwanted energies and entities that may be attracted to your magical workings.

Remember that "Circle Casting" is something of a misnomer. You are not creating merely a two dimensional, flat circle, but a three dimensional sphere that extends as far below you as it does above. The "circle" is that defined by the intersection of that portion above you and that below you.

    You will need:
♥ A wand, athame, staff, sword or just the index finger of your dominant hand (the one you write with). Unless you have cleansed and consecrated your tools, use your finger to direct the energies
♥ Incense – stick, cone, powdered, or loose herb; incense holder; incense-specific charcoal (for loose incense); matches or lighter
♥ A bowl of clean water
♥ A bowl of consecrated sea salt
♥ Quarter candles and holders in the following colors: East – Yellow for Air; South – Red for Fire; West – Blue for Water; and North – Green for Earth.
♥ A special candle, a nice figurine or a picture to represent your Dragon ally

    Casting Instructions:

Step 1: Begin in the East. Using the tool of your choice move around the circle South, West, North and back to East visualize red/orange Dragon fire erupting from the tool to form a flaming perimeter around the circle and say:

    "By Dragon Fire
and the power of my will
    let the circle be sealed!"

Repeat four times, once at each quarter, until your return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity ∞.

Step 2: Light the incense and again move from the East. As you move "see" the smoke driving all unwanted energies from the circle to be consumed by the Dragon Fire and say:

    "By Dragon's Breath
    and the combined powers
    of fire and air,
    let the circle
    be purified and sealed."

Repeat four times, once at each quarter, until you return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity ∞.

Step 3: Stir sea salt into the water bowl and visualize the salt destroying any unwanted energies through the water. Project the Dragon energy into the water until you "know" the water is pure and say:

    "The sacred salt
    now destroys
    all harmful and unwanted energies
    by this water.
    By Dragon magic,
    I call you purified."

Beginning in the east, liberally sprinkle the circle while visualizing the combined powers of earth and water destroying any remaining unwanted energy within the circle. As you traverse the Circle, say:

    "By Dragon Tears
    and the combined powers
    of earth and water,
let the circle be consecrated and sealed!"

Repeat four times until you return to the East. "Tie" the circle off using the symbol for infinity ∞

Step 4: Return to the altar and say out loud:

    "Now is the circle sealed
    and the boundary made.
    By Dragon Magic
and the power of my will,
    let nothing but beneficial energy
enter and nothing but beneficial energy
    emerge for the betterment
    of myself and my Clan.
    So shall it be!"

The circle is now cast and you are ready for the next step, Calling the Guardians of the Quarters.
