Where Magick come to life

The Pentagram

The pentagram a simple symbol but one that has it roots in history and many religious paths. The pentagram has strong links to black magic, witchcraft and rock music,. The pentagram is a symbol of Unity, the goddess (the orbit of venus produces a five pointed star), the four elements and spirit, the five Chinese elements, the God, and the five wounds of Christ, many others.
The pentagram has be linked to magicks since the mid 19th century but has historical information dating back 3000bc to Sumerian times where it was used as a pictogram for the word “UB” meaning “corner, angle, nook; a small room, cavity, hole; pitfall. You can logically see the reason why the pentagram is used in magicks the idea of creating “a small room” in which magicks where to be preformed by drawing a symbol is still used today in many neopagan and wiccan paths.
The symbol of the pentagram has been adopted as a religious symbol by Wicca’s and some other pagan paths, in the same way Christians adopted the cross. Most wiccan’s and neo pagans will have pentagram rings, pentagram charms, pentagram pendants, pentagram earrings even pentagrams on the books of shadows and tarot boxes they will have them everywhere.
I am not sure that this over exposure to the pentagram has lessened the power of the symbol but it no longer inspires the fear and aw it used to, in days past wearing a pentagram openly was a badge of honour a sense of pride in your beliefs. Nowadays everyone has them in the jewellery box.
The pentagram as a magickal symbol itself is not good or bad it how its used and it has many uses apart from pagan jewellery. The first this to look at is which what you draw it right side up or upside down the easiest way to remember which way to draw one is to remember point up for spiritual endeavours point down for earthly matters.
A higher purpose – spiritual
These are magick that required direct spiritual begins for celebration, paying respect to the spirits and deities
For earthly matters
These are magicks that are for personal benefit rather than spiritual enlightenment.
The upside down pentagram has had a long association with negative magicks and the Devil from the general public and I am not saying that upside down pentagrams are not used for darker magicks outside a spiritual pagan path but within the pagan paths we do not pay the upside down pentagram any real interest.
But the upside down pentagram can and should be used to descend into ones self with the help of the dark god / goddesses to find understanding with in our self we are a result of our actions and those who actions have change and developed us.(ritual to follow)
In the pagan paths the pentagram is drawn in one complete motion and depending on which type of pentagram your drawing depends on your start position. Now it does not matter how you use your pentagram just remember that it is more than just a jewellery symbol but a magickal tool to help you connect with higher forms give it some respect when your drawing it out.

Amazing Grapes

Amazing grapes, how sweet the taste
That fed a lush like me
I drank too much wine at Festival
and lost my virginity

T’was grapes that taught my friends to cringe
Through grapes, my stress relieved
Obnoxious words come out my mouth
That you would not believe

Through many vinyards east and west
I have thus come so far
The grapevine has brought me comfort sure
While driving in my car

Amazing grapes, how sweet the taste
That fed a lush like me
I drank too much wine at Wiccan Fest
and lost my virginity

How sweet the sound of popping corks
To this great lover’s ear
It sooths the thirst upon my tongue
Don’t drink it after beer

Most raisins shrivel in the sun
While other grapes go free
Lets give the juice to everyone
Especially to me

Amazing grapes, how sweet the taste
That fed a lush like me
I drank too much wine at Ravenwood
and lost my virginity

I drank too much wine at Winter Star
And lost my virginity

Sung to the traditional Amazing Grace

Lyrics by: Pasha, “Pasha and the Pagans” 1993.

Ah Way Ya Hey

Ah way ah hey, ah way ah hey
I fly a hey, I fly a hey
Become the sun, the moon and stars
Way up I fly, I hey I hi

Closing Song

By the air that is her breath
By the fire of her bright spirit
By the waters of her womb
By the earth that is her body

Our circle is open yet unbroken
May the peace (love, joy) of the Goddess
Be ever in our hearts
Merry meet, and merry part and merry meet again

Earth My(Our) Body

Earth my(our) body, water my(our) blood: Air my(our) breath and fire my(our) spirit

We’ll teach our children year after year

In the heart of the light I am (x4)
In the dark of the night I am (x4)

In the freedom of the spirit I am (x1)
In the knowledge of the one I am (x1)
In the song of the light I am (x1)
In the mirror of the all I am (x1)

In the centre of the source I am (x4)

Moon Phase Chant

Where is the Moon when the Moon is new?
It’s a sliver to the right getting bigger every night

Where is the Moon when the Moon is round?
Rising as the sun is going down

Where is the Moon when the Moon is waning?
Sliver to the left till there’s no Moon remaining

Wiccan Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the earth
That formed (bore) a witch like me
I once was burned, now I survive
Was hanged but now I sing. (I’m free)

The magic of the people’s will
Will set our Mother free

Gods and Goddess of the dead

grave 150x150 Gods and Goddess of the deadThe wheel as turned to Samhain and the thoughts of lost love one come to mind and we spend our time celebrating death. Not just of mortal death but also of the world the fields are now baron, the ice breath of winter is breathing heaver upon us, the skies are darkening, the sunrises later and we will soon face the on coming winter.

Honouring the dead is common throughout the world and there are many festivals dedicated to our ancestors.

In some traditions of modern Paganism, she is believed to be the gatekeeper between graveyards and the mortal world.

Morrígan (“phantom queen”) or Mórrígan (“great queen”) (also known as Morrígu, Morríghan, Mor-Ríoghain, sometimes given in the plural as Morrígna) (Irish) In mythology she is seen as a triple goddess the most common version of her triad Badb, Macha and Nemain, This warrior goddess is associated with death in a way much like the Norse goddess Freya. The Morrighan is known as the washer at the ford, and it is she who determines which warriors walk off the battlefield, and which ones are carried away on their shields. The Dark Moon and Dark Magicks

darkmoon 150x150 The Dark Moon and Dark MagicksThe dark moon is the 3-day period just before the new. This is when there is no visual representation on of the moon. During the dark moon many neo pagans will honour a dark moon goddess – Hecate, Kali, Lilith etc.

In neo pagan society the dark moon and the goddess that rule this period are in my mind softened to a major extent making them goddess of birth and death and the underworld often ignoring their darker deeds. May be it because many of the founders of the neo pagan paths wanted to disassociate themselves from the idea that witchcraft could be bad or wicked which ignores a major part of the deities and us. This in my mind dishonours not only the goddess but also us. We all have a dark side ranging from naughty to dam right evil.

The dark moon allows us to explore our darker sides, what are we truly capable of! Not all pagan paths would see this as the right thing, but they all have to accept that darkness is part of our life – we all go through dark times (some in which we get lost in). I was taught that the goddess would as easily embrace her children, as she would devour them.

The idea of devouring a child sound sick and something a goddess would never do but you just need to look at nature to see the answer and before you go its the male of the species we are not looking at territory we are looking that when a female animal gives birth to a sick or deformed animal, it not done to hurt it done to stop pain. As humans we devour our children by over or under protecting them and probably many other ways I am not a parent so can’t embellish.

The darkness that is or visits our life has its ebbs and flows like all things and in many cases you feel alone isolated with no one to turn to. In reality there is support and a way out but you just can’t find it. This is the dark moon you know its their somewhere but it gone your alone the mother moon is no longer smiling on you.

The dark moon should be seen as a time to explore your darkest sides the things you fear the most the dark moon is not a time for doing as you want with out paying restoration dark magicks are painful.

For me dark magicks Buy Xenical Online do include cursing and hexing but they are only if ever used when totally required and with much forethought. The dark magick of which I speak are the inner pains we feel the betrayals the hurts and loses, at the time we feel them we can not understand them so by revisiting them and experiencing them once more! We gain a better understanding of our nature. And only by descending into darkness and chaos can we truly understand it.

A solitary circle casting

Spirograph 150x150 A solitary circle castingAs a solitary eclectic witch part of my practice is to develop new and exciting ways of developing my understanding of the goddess and learn new magickal skills. My whole practice is really a matter of trail and error and experimentation this is one of the major reasons I define myself as a witch or a pagan and if pressed to give a path I would define my path as a shamanic eclectic hedge witch as that seems to cover it.

But I was sitting yesterday (Sunday) in a day that was filled with emotional ups and downs one of those days when you don’t know whether to laugh or cry so you end up doing both. I always find that these days are a way of clearing crap emotionally, which always leads to an opening.

As in life we all have problems and I do to, well I am only human. And sometime those issues take a toll physically, mentally and spiritually but sometime throughout the turmoil great inspiration can take place. Since my patron goddess is Hecate and we all know that she loves to drive men mad moments of madness are her divine works and inspiration flows.

So during a moment or two of madness I came upon an idea for casting a circle which feel very natural and almost perfect which I feel need to be shared.

I was sitting for some reason with an abundance of energy (probably the music and the events of the day) I felt fully charged I could feel the energy so much that I knew that I had to disperse it in some way. So I placed my dominant palm flat above the ground (at the time I was sitting in a chair) and focused the energy into a white light and directed it on to the ground.

There was a stream of white light flowing from my palm on to the ground I am not sure if it was the music or my playful side but I started to use the energy flowing from my hand like a child would use a sparkler making patterns I became trans fixed on the light and the patterns and started to draw spirals which turned into spiral circles which was about a foot in diameter.

Now I am sure that it was my childish side but I began to imagine a Spiro graph picture of a spiral circle which I was forming with a circular motion of my hand as the circle formed I was still pouring energy into it began glow and spin and grow in time with the motion of my hand.

Again with childish thought I felt that I wanted to put my foot inside the circle and as I did still focusing on the circle and the energy. As my foot took centre place in the circle the circle began to rotate around my ankle like a hula-hoop growing in size I was giving less energy to the circle my desire to make it grow and treat it like a hula hoop was making it grow.

My desire became to stand in side my energy had a thread like attachment to the circle as the circle grew large enough for me to stand inside I got another childish feeling I was a cowboy with a lasso spinning a circle around me my hand held high creating a cone of energy.

The moment I noticed the cone my left hand palm down reach out and my right hand came down and I stood in the position of the rune tiw /tyr with a circle of energy circling me the energy began to flow like a circuit from my right hand around the circle and back up my left hand uneven at first but once the balance was felt I raised my hands above my head palm together drawing the energy up like eyelids sealing a dome above me then I moved my hand to my sides visualising the energy sealing below as it did Cheap Alli Online above me I now stood I a perfect sphere as I look upon the ball of energy surrounding me I thought of the word solid and as I did the circle be came a glass like ball.

This environment became a perfect magickal space the world outside became a dimension which although could be seen had no mass and on became an impression

This environment became a perfect magickal space the world outside became a dimension which although could be seen had no mass and only was  an impression in my vision it was like see a transparent image

If I had more practice on developing this circle I may have been able to give more than my person experience but the most important part of this circle was a feeling of being a child and that not something that can be taught

It amazing when ideas of magickal practices come to mind

A personal view of Hecate

HecateWheel 150x1503 A personal view of HecateHecate or Hakate in my mind is one of the most important goddess and saying that very little is known of her. Even her origins are a bit of a mystery even her parentage is a mystery some say Perses and Asteria, others say Zeus and Hera or as Hesiod claims Uranus and Gaia where her parents. While other says she travelled from a distant land while some say she was not a god but the only Titan that kept their powers. It is said that Zeus held her in high esteem either through Fear or respect and she was giving dominion over the Heavens, the Earth, the Sea and the Underworld a honour that no other god or goddess had.

Hecate has the control over life and death and Magicks and witchcraft basically she has control over every aspect of life and although she is a very very powerful goddess she can be very difficult to work with especial for men. Hecate demands loyalty from her followers she does have a tendency to turn men mad (can speck from personal experience) but her rewards are boundless.

Hecate has many guises and is one of very few goddesses, who are in triple aspect; the image of Hecate can be a maiden, a mother or a crone although most modern depictions of her are that of the crone. For me she is more force than form a guiding light that has lead me to a greater understanding of myself and of Magicks.

Hecate rule the in-between places such as doorways and dusk and dawn so communicating with her is easy for those brave enough to call on her. These in-between places are not the only place where you can meet Hecate and worship her; one of the most common places to meet her is crossroad, where one should always leave an offering or the Hecate Supper (a special meal created as an offering to Hecate).

I will say that Hecate will choose her followers and test them, for me it took nearly 25 years to fully connect with Hecate as a personal deity but as I look back over my life I can see her guiding hand directing the threads of my life to get me to where I am today, She appeared in many guises and left many symbols along the way. And many of the tests she put me through to see if I was worthy most of them where very painful and difficult at the time.

Through her guidance I moved through Wiccan and began to develop my own path and although my personal path mixes other tradition and does not fit any pagan path fully I have learn to understand that no one can follow  my path they can only follow their own.

I found that Hecate needs no other Gods or Goddesses for rituals or spell working but will work well with deities even those from different cultures to achieve a goal. I believe this happens because Hecate is more than a single goddess within a pantheon She is a deity that appears in other cultural paths, her roles are mirrored in pagan paths, most pagan cultures have a dark goddess that rule over life, death and magicks.

Being called a dark goddess is not a term that should encourage fear but understand as humans we fear the darker side of ourselves our ‘fears’ Hecate is the light that banishes these fears through understanding or simply put Hecate will make you face your fears.

Hecate has a great sense of humour and enjoys a good laugh normally at the cost of her priest and priestess.

Hecate like isolation and quite places and is easily called upon in meditation or through visualisation. To contact Hecate, find yourself a quite place and call on her do not visualise her form she will choose which guise which many not be human. Animals associated with Hecate are all wild creatures, the creatures of the night but she is most associated with dogs. But no matter in what form she appears in she will depart great knowledge but remember it may not be what you to hear.

 A personal view of Hecate
