Mens Traditions

May be as a response to the women’s tradition, Dianic witchcraft or goddess worship the male tradition focuses on the male aspect of the divine. The aim of the men’s tradition is to help men connect with the male deity and male spirituality. The horned god is the principle deity although the path does include other archetypal male deities in the search for male orientated wisdom, strength and love. The men’s tradition is gathering force probably due to the fact that the rolls of men are changing within society. The men’s tradition is very much a boys club transforming itself from a pagan path in to much more of a tribal society where the focus is less on ritual and more on personal discovery of the newly awakening male spirituality. At the heart of the male traditions are the myths and traditions of Mithras or the literature of R J ‘Bob’ Stewart. Although strong influences have also come from John Rrowan and Robert Bly which have help to form the Men’s tradition in to a fast moving pagan path it is still a very young path but it fundamental ideas of searching for male spiritual identity away from the idea of the Christian “all powerful god” and the Wiccan concept as “The God as Consult”. Modern men have been looking for a way to distance themselves from defined rolls society has set for men allowing them to gain some personal power not only in their daily life’s but also the spiritual ones. .
