Losing sight of the path

path1 150x150 Losing sight of the pathA solitary pagan path can be one of the most difficult paths to follow and you can often find yourself with out warning resting along the way. As with all things in a pagans life it all about the ebbs and flows the circle of the year.

With this there come your own natural ebbs and flows there are times when everything flows perfect your home life, work life and health all seem to be working in perfect harmony and your spiritual life just fits in perfectly.

But there are times when one or more of these life aspects fall out of harmony sometime causing major problems with your life and your health. When these aspects fall out of balance that happen for a reason. They cause us to spend more time focusing on our lives in greater detail.

These times can affect us greatly and our spiritual selves can take a back seat or we can over rely on them to see us through. When we are in a group our group members can help support us, or offer advice cast spells to assist us, ritual can be created to help us. But the solitary does not have that luxury – the solitary is never truly alone thou they do have friends in the craft that will do workings for them and support them.

The solitary witch or pagan has chosen a path which relies of a personal understanding of the divine and their place within the structure life, the universe and they understand that sometimes that their attention has to focused on mundane things such as work, relationships, and money which can put a strain on their spiritual practice or it can seem that way.

This strain manifests in shorter rituals or basic observance of special days and much less magickal workings. Now many beginners to a solitary pagan path often feel the moment something starts going wrong in the daily lives that magick is the solution so out come the wand and Book of shadows.

When a beginner starts to use magicks to solve their problems a number of things can happen either the spell works and problem solved only to return at a later time stronger and with more devastation or it fails leaving you feeling worse off and let down by your deity.

The moment we start to use magicks to improve our lives is the moment we stop dealing with life correctly. I have found over the years that issues arise where magick seems to be the simple solution but when I have used magicks the issues would arrive in a different and more pronounce form at a later time often causing more distress.

As pagans and witches we stride two worlds the worlds of mortals and the worlds of magick these two worlds come together during ritual and each world influences the other at other times.

Our mortal dealings are never smooth but are filled with many experiences which help us to develop spiritually each adversity we over come leads us to a greater understanding of our self and we grow as people it is through our experiences that we learn to help others and empathise with them making us better people.

The old adage these thing are sent to test comes to mind and it reminds me that the goddess is mother and the god is father and like good parents they want us to learn those that learn that mum and dad will not bail them out every time grow into strong people who know that they have to stand on their own two feet to truly succeed while those that rely on their parent never truly fully grow as people and cope badly when things go wrong. Using magick to solve your mortal problems is like running home to mummy and daddy asking for help it not an ideal solution.

Your parents can guide you the same way the goddess and god can guide you ask for their advice this can be done in the form of meditation /prayer think of meditation / prayer as phoning home to mum and dad you may not like what they have to say but they will give the right advice.

When I have difficulties I know that my energies will be lower than normal and my mind is filled with the mundane and these things should not be taken into ritual so my ritual work often drops off and is replaced with meditation /prayer below is a prayer I use in difficult time.

Mother Moon and Father Sun always with me always present.

My life is filled with problems the silliness of daily life. (Insert your problems feelings and fears don’t list them talk about them)

Help me find the solution the way through the dark.

Father Sun, lend me your strength and wisdom to face each day, as I must.

I know you have face the same as each day weakens you I have seen you carry on

Each I now battle I face (Insert your problems feelings and fears don’t list them talk about them)

Empower me with your wisdom and help me carry on

Mother Moon, be kind and gentle as always,

Hold me and cuddle me and tell me it will come right

Let me hear your caring song once more and let me find the rest in you arms.

Hear my woes and sorrows and guide me on my way.

(Insert your problems feelings and fears don’t list them talk about them)

Mother Moon and Father Sun thank you for your time, guide me to the solution set the sign clearly to guide me through this time

Feel free to adapt to your own needs.

Beltane Solitary Ritual

maypole 300x2251 Beltane Solitary RitualThis ritual is originally from Wiccan Path by Rae Beth and is a lovely ritual for solitary wiccans, and great for the newbie I found that it lack the passion of Beltaine so for the less subdued of you I have made adjustment to the original text. Now I have used this ritual before so the adaptations are not new to me. For the beginner and for some people the idea of sex and sexuality can be a difficult subject to talk about when it comes to ritual.

The one thing that you need to keep in mind is Beltane marks the union of the two deities, bringing new life to the earth and the keyword is UNION, which does mean sexual relations. We as pagan do not fear sex but embrace it’s a natural act. The reason I have included the adaptations is that it shows how you can take a very good ritual and without to much work make it personal or more in tune with the festival / Sabbat

Preparation

Before this ritual you should, spend some time, creating a wand. The wand should be 13 inches long and about half an inch thick. The tip of the wand should be carved into the shape of a phallus. Although it is acceptable to just use a branch with the bark peeled off.

The wood should either be Oak or Hazel (remember. Do not take the word from a living tree).

The wand should be placed on your alter a long, with a prepared dish of earth.

The Ritual

Cast the Circle and invoke the Lady (goddess) and the Lord (god). After the invocation, dance and chant to raise power for magical activities and then earth the power into an unlit candle, placed inside the cauldron, at the centre of the circle. Chant the following (or make up your own!):

Beltane!
I dance with delight
on Beltane’s night.
All senses freeing,
I dance for being.
The flower and the flame
of love’s own rite
shall blossom. Sun
embrace Earth, bright.

Light the candle to the Sun. This is the Beltane fire, our modern substitute for the hilltop bonfires of our ancestors. The Bel fire is an invocation to the Sun God to bring blessing and protection for the coming year. This is sacred fire with healing and purifying properties. As you light the candle, be aware of its power and significance. Say:

I light this candle to the Sun.

Now take up a dish of earth. Bless it in the name of the Goddess.

Lay your hands upon it and say:

I bless, consecrate, and set apart this earth, in the name of the Triple Goddess. May this be sacred earth, set apart for magick. For earth is of the Goddess, being her sacred body.

Remember that the Goddess is not only of the Moon, but also of the Earth and of the farthest stars. She is the Triple Goddess of the Circle of Rebirth, the Mother of All Life. Decorate the dish of earth with flowers.

Now, take a wooden wand and oil it with vegetable oil ( good quality oil something you have just bought for ritual *). Bless it in the name of the Lord of the Day, the youthful, ardent one, the Lord of Life, the God of the greenwood. Pass it swiftly through the candle flame, the Bel fire, so that it becomes magically imbued, ‘charged’, with power. Place the wand upon the dish of earth, saying as you hold it there: [1]

As the wand is to the earth,

so the male is to the female

and the Sun to our blossoming world.

Joined, they bring happiness.

May the God of Life give ___ {something you want, for example, peace on Earth}

May the Goddess bring it forth! [end 1]

Sit quietly for a while, and picture the blossoming of what you have desired in life. The spells and invocations of all of us, all working on themes like these, must eventually bear fruit, because life is on the side of peace. Leave the earth and wand upon the alter.

Walk deosil three times around the circle, and then spiral into the centre. Go evenly, with grace, meditatively. Sit beside the candle flame, allowing yourself to feel peaceful. Gaze into the flame.

The next part is different depending on whether you are man or woman.

For a Woman: visualize a red rosebud in your womb. Always your womb is the source of your creative power, whether you are pregnant with a child, an idea, a work of art or an intention. Close your eyes and picture the light from the candle streaming into your womb so that the rosebud blooms, unfolds. Hold the image for a while, feeling the silkiness, smelling the scent, the freshness, seeing the colour of the fully open rose within you. Feel the strength and power of your own fully blossomed capabilities. Say: [2]

I am woman,
strong to conceive and to create,
to give birth and to tend.

As I am daughter of the Goddess,
and blessed by the God, may I ___

{here name what you wish to bring forth in life. For example bring healing to others or write my book whatever matters to you}[end 2]

Feel the strength and creative force within your womb, the centre of your being. See the power being channelled, flowing into the desire you have just voiced. Open your eyes. Always, the rose is within you.

For a Man: Visualize a bright flame. This burns within your sexual centre, a point at the base of the stomach, just above the pubic hairline. It is your own male strength and energy which may rise through your body to be released as giving, fertilizing power, in any form, or may be the potency which impregnates, creating a physical child. It is the force which blesses and bestows, a healing and creative energy, like the shining Sun. Visualize also that you are sitting in a garden and that a rose tree is in front of you, the roses in bud. Say:

[3] man,
and in my passion is beauty,
in my warmth is life.
As I am son of the Goddess,
and blessed by the God,
I offer my strength and vitality to ____

{name the area of life, the place, activity, or commitment you choose}[end 3]

Visualize the light streaming from you to a rose upon the tree causing it to unfold, to blossom. Your flame is lowered by this effort. Much has gone out of you, the flame sinks down. Wait and watch, until a pink light streams from the rose towards your body. At its touch, just above the pubic hairline the flame resurges. It burns higher and stronger than before. Open your eyes. The flame is always within you.

* if your going to use the adapted words keep in mind that the wand is going to be a phallus and a representation of the god so add a little sexual feeling to the oiling

Adaptation to wording

[1] Place the wand in earth (like when you place Athame in the chalice) , saying as you hold it there: as the wand is to the male and to the phallus the earth is the virgina and the womb may the seed create life. And let this life be {something you want, for example, peace on Earth} let the goddess grow it and let the god protect it and give it is strength.

[2], I am she woman born of woman, woman born of Goddess I am here to create and to nurture I am a mother with or without children, and the maiden, carefree and fertile and crone the endless possibility I have the power to create to bring life and with the will of the goddess and the blessing of the God. I choose to create {here name what you wish to bring forth in life. For example bring healing to others or write my book whatever matters to you}

[3] I am he born of woman from the seed of a man growing inside her nurtured and loved and taught the roles of man. The wildness of nature is reflected in my youth, as a man I am the warrior and protector to defend the ones I love in my age I will learn compassion and wisdom I am a child of the goddess and the God. I am my father’s son. I give to you, my strength and my virility {name the area of life, the place, activity, or commitment you choose}

Basic Set of Tables of Correspondence

witch spells 291x300 Basic Set of Tables of CorrespondenceWhen it comes to Magicks and Witch Craft a good set of Correspondences are important, but like all things in magick personal input will help you create a set of correspondence that are personal to you improving your magickal skills.

Below is a set of basic correspondences the days of the week, the planets and astrological influences i have also included the planetary hours which can be a little confusing but the easiest way to understand it is the number in the hour column relates to the hour after sunrise in day planet hours and the hour after sunset in night planet hours. Her is an example if you want the hour of mars on a monday and sunrise is 6.45 you can see that mars is in the 4th hour so add 4 hours to sunrise time for the start of the hour of mars (the hour would start at 10.45am) you do the same with night hours using sunset as your starting time.

I have also included a table for spell craft correspondences no the tables below are nowhere nearly close to the number of different tables of correspondences but they are a starting point

The Triskelion Rite Of Tea

triskle 150x150 The Triskelion Rite Of TeaThe original diagram for this ritual has been lost but if you place the cauldron directly in front of you, the herbs and brewing ingrediance to the left and the cup to the right forming the triangle of the triskalion, once you have placed the tools in position visualiste the energy flow in the patten of the triskelion, before starting the ritual works very well.

Tools:

  • Herb(s) for tea
  • Container for herb(s)
  • Cup(s) and Tea Pot
  • Decanter of Pure Spring Water
  • Brewing dish with candle
  • Scrying Candle
  • cauldron

Prepare By: Placing a small table or platform in the center of your working space and arranging the Brewing dish, herbs, cup(s), Tea Pot and spoon on the table. Also place the cauldron with scrying candle within for use during the meditation.  Prior to casting the Circle, light candle and fill the Brewing dish with Spring Water from a decanter. Keep the Brewing Dish covered during the Casting, as I have found this helps the water to heat faster and hotter.

The Blessing of the Herbs

With the tip of your Athame touching the Herbs, intone this blessing:

Thou has grown by favor of the Sun, The Moon, and of the dew. I make this intercession, ye herb: I beseech thee to be of benefit to me and my rite, For thy virtues are unfailing. Thou art the Dew of all the Gods, The Eye of the Sun, The Light of the Moon, The Beauty and Glory of the Sky, The Mystery of Terra. I purify thee so that Whatever is wrought by me with thee may, In all its powers, Have a good and speedy effect with good success. Be purified by my prayer and be powerful!

So mote it be!

When water is hot enough, place the herbs in the Tea Pot and add water from the brewing dish, give it a couple of stirs.

While the tea is steeping, intone this Prayer.

May Day Beltane and Bile

p lg belenos 150x1501 May Day Beltane and BileBeltane (AKA Lá Bealtaine, Bealltainn, Beltain, Beltaine, Boaltinn, Boaldyn, Belotenia, Gŵyl Galan Mai) is the Celtic fire festival that either marks the mid point between spring and summer or for others the first day of summer.

The name Beltane means ‘fires of Bel’. The god bel is also known as Belen, Belenus, Belinus, Bellinus, Bélénos, Belennos, Belenos, Bel, Bilé: Is The Celtic god of light and healing, “Bel” means “shining one,” or in Irish Gaelic, the name “bile” translates to “sacred tree.” It is thought that the waters of Danu, the Irish All-Mother goddess, fed the oak and produced their son, The Dagda. As the Welsh Beli, he is the father of Arianrhod by Don.

Patron of sheep and cattle, Bel’s festival is Beltane, one of two main Celtic fire festivals. Beltane celebrates the return of life and fertility to the world — marking the beginning of summer and the growing season. Taking place on Sunset April 30, Beltane also is sometimes referred to as “Cetsamhain” which means “opposite Samhain.” The word “Beltaine” literally means “bright” or “brilliant fire,” and refers to the bonfire lit by a presiding Druid in honour of Bile.

“Some believe this deity is the equivalent of Belatucadros, the consort of Belisama, another patroness of light, fire, the forge and crafts. Belatucadros, whose name means “fair shining one” or possibly “the fair slayer,” is the god of destruction and war and transports the dead to Danu’s “divine waters.” Celtic deities often reign over seemingly contradictory themes. In the case of Belatucadros, death was simply a pathway to rebirth in the Other world, thus linking the two themes together. However, according to Ross’s Pagan Celtic Britain, historically the worship of Belatucadros among the Celts was confined only the north-western region of Britain and has never been associated with the festival of Beltane, healing or with a consort (pg. 235).

It has been suggested that the mythological king, Beli Mawr, in the story of Lludd and Llefelys in The Mabinogion, is a folk memory of this god. In Irish mythology, the great undertakings of the Tuatha Dé Danann and the Milesians — the original supernatural inhabitants of Eiru and their human conquerors, respectively — began at Beltane. The Milesians were led by Amairgen, son of Mil, in folklore reputed to be the first Druid[1]

Since this is a pagan festival we have to acknowledge that this festival would mark a significant event in the year and the life of our ancient pagan brothers and sisters so again their thoughts of the future influenced the ritual. So it was a time for selecting a mate for the future and appeasing the god so that life stock and food would be plentiful.

This festival is a fire festival so many rituals involved the use of fire Cattle were often passed between two fires and the properties of the flame and the smoke were seen to ensure the fertility of the herd and young men and women would collect blossoms in the woods and lighting fires in the evening this was often a courting ritual which lead to marriage that same night or at very least during the coming year.

Today many Pagans believe that at Beltane the God (to whom the Goddess gave birth at the Winter Solstice) achieves the strength and maturity to court and become lover to the Goddess. So although what happens in the fields has lost its significance for most Pagans today, the creation of fertility is still an important issue.

Beltane has always been seen as one of the most visually sexually rituals with fires and Maypoles and it openness to sex and fertility.

The may pole was introduced to Britain and the Celts and it original use has been lost but it practice survived Christianisation, albeit losing any original meaning that it had. While some see it as a phallic symbol and representation of the male aspect of the deity other see it as a community symbol, which entwined people together. In Britain and Ireland, the maypole was found primarily in England and in areas of Wales, Hutton, Ronald (1996). The Stations of the Sun: A History of the Ritual Year in Britain. Oxford: Oxford University Press. Page 233Scotland and Ireland, which were under English influence. As the historian Ronald Hutton remarked, “there is no real evidence to indicate when [the maypole] first arrived in the British Isles,”[2] although the earliest recorded evidence comes from a Welsh poem written by Gryffydd ap Adda ap Dafydd in the mid-14th century, in which he described how people used a tall birch pole at Llanidloes, central Wales.[2] Literary evidence for maypole use across much of Britain increases in later decades, and “by the period 1350-1400 the custom was well established across southern Britain, in town and country and in both Welsh-speaking and English-speaking areas.”

Samhain Ritual

630px Pentagram circle interlaced svg 150x1502 Samhain RitualPlace an apple and pomegranate upon the altar. There should also be a “planted” pot of earth for each participant – these may be arranged on the altar as well, if there is ample space. Instruments of divination may be placed within the Circle perimeter for use during the ritual if you wish. Arrange the altar as usual and decorate with Autumn leaves, pumpkins, etc.

The Circle is cast and purified the Circle in the usual manner. Dancing around the Circle in a shuffle step (deosil), all chant three times:

The Moon is bright, the Crone is old
The body lifeless – the bones so cold
We all live and pay our dues
To die in ones and threes and twos.

Death, dance and play the harp
Piercing silence in the dark
The Woman’s old with withered limbs
Death beckons Her to dance with Him

As She accepts the Dance of Death
The Earth is cooled by ghostly breath
To lie in dormancy once more
To have Her strength and life restored

Go to the Western Quarter and draw an invoking pentagram with the athame to open the gate. Then evoke the dead by saying:

All ye spirits who walk this night -
Hearken! Hearken to my call!
I bid you in our Circle join!
Enter! Enter – one and all!

Come ye, spirits of the dead:
Be ye spirit of plant or pet
Or human being who still roams!
Into this Circle you are let!

Speak to us of things unknown!
Lend your energies to this rite!
To speed your journey, we have joined
On this sacred Samhain night!

All ye spirits who walk this night -
Hearken! Hearken to my call!
I bid you in our Circle join!
Enter! Enter – one and all!

Bestow blessings upon the dead, saying:

Oh Mighty Pan of the Summerlands:
Guardian of the beloved dead
We pour forth love on those you keep
Safely, in your peaceful stead
We bless those who have walked the path
That someday, we as well, shall rove
We offer peace unto their souls
While resting in your arms, below

Now is the time for divination (Ouija Board, pendulum, cards, etc.) and communication with those who have gone on before us. Allow plenty of time for this. [Note: I have found that it is helpful to have a tape recorder handy within the Circle for recording any communications that may be "channeled" during this time. Some people disagree with this suggestion, saying that the metal of this electronic device causes scattered energies in the Circle; however, if the recorder has been cleansed and purified as the rest of the ritual tools, the problem seems to be resolved.]

When the divinatory processes are completed, the Priestess goes to the Western Quarter and draw the banishing pentagram, saying:

Blessings be upon thee, oh wondrous Spirits of the
Summerlands. We humbly thank thee for your presence in our
Circle and honor you in celebration this sacred night. We
beseech thee, oh Pan, keeper of the sacred dead, embrace
once again those souls within your keep and hold tightly
to your breast those which have been lost and wandering.
Grant them safe passage to the Summerland, where they may
rest peacefully in your strength until they are refreshed
and reborn again in perfect love. We bid thee all a fond
farewell. So mote it be!

The gate is now closed.

The Priestess goes to the altar and hold up the pomegranate, saying:

Behold the pomegranate, fruit of Life…

The athame is plunged into the pomegranate, splitting it open to display the seeds. She says:

Whose seeds lie in the dormancy of Death!

The Priestess eats one of the seeds, saying:

I Taste the seeds of Death.

The pomegranate is then passed hand to hand through the participants of the ritual, each eating a seed and saying to the next person:

“Taste the seeds of Death.”

The Priestess then holds up the apple, saying:

Behold the apple: fruit of wisdom, fruit of Death…

She then cuts the apple crosswise, saying:

Whose symbolism rewards us with life eternal!

She holds up the apple, displaying the inner pentagram, and says:

Behold the five-fold star – the promise of rebirth!

Consecrate the fruit and wine. Each person then tastes of the apple and sips the wine, saying to the next person:

Taste the fruit of rebirth and sip from the cup of wine of Life.

After libation, the Priestess presents each member of the group with a small pot of earth, planted with three seeds [preferably rue or lavender]. She briefly explains to the group that this is the season of the seed – it is a time of dormancy, but also a time of re-generation for growth. Further, as the seed rests in the earth, they should also take time to rest and re-evaluate their lives, metaphorically planting only those values which will enrich and enhance the growth within the Divine Self. She then instructs them to name the seeds within their pots with three values they wish to incorporate into their lives, knowing that as the seeds sprout with new life, their lives will be new, as well.

After the presentation, all join hands and hold them skyward.

PRIESTESS:

Thus is the Circle of Rebirth.
All pass from this life through the great god, Pan
But through My love you are all reborn
In the cycles of nature – through the Cosmic Plan.

In living we die – in dying we live
The fruit is first seed, yet seed comes from the fruit
In the mystery of life and death and rebirth
The Circle turns ever, and I am its root.

ALL RESPOND:

The Sun conceived in Darkness, cold
In the Shadow of Death, a Life unfolds
A shred of Light begins to burn
From Death comes Life – the Circle turns.

Dismiss Quarters and Dissolve Circle.

PRIESTESS:

The rite is ended.

ALL:

Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again!

Outdoor libation to the Lord and Lady, and the spirits of the dead.

Dorothy Morrison

This ritual was written at a time when I did not have a qualified Priest in my group. However, it may easily be adapted for those groups in which the Priestess and Priest work together. It may be just as easily adapted to solitary work.

Hymns To The One Goddess

groups goddesses 300x251 Hymns To The One GoddessOh Goddess,
You Yourself are the Creator. Everything that happens is by Your Doing.
There is no one except You.

You created the creation; You behold it and understand it.
Amongst all is the Light–You are that Light.
By this Illumination, that Light is radiant within all.
The Goddess is the Greatest of the Great. No one calls Her any less.
No one can estimate Her Worth. By speaking of Her, Her Greatness is not increased.
You are the One True Mistress of all the other beings, of so many worlds.
Come, my dear sisters and spiritual companions; hug me close in your embrace.
You have so many Creative Powers, Mistress; Your Bountiful Blessings are so Great.
So many of Your beings and creatures praise You day and night.
You have so many forms and colours, so many classes, high and low.
Meeting the True One, Truth wells up. The truthful are absorbed into the True Goddess.
Upon that Highest Plane of Sublime Beauty, stands the Grove of the Goddess.
By true actions, this human body is obtained,
And the door within ourselves which leads to the Grove of the Goddess, is found.
The True Goddess Herself knows all; She makes no mistakes.
She is the Great Gardener of the Universe.
First, She prepares the ground, and then She plants the Seed of the True Name.
The nine treasures are produced from Name of the One Goddess.
The blind have forgotten the Name of the Goddess.
Their comings and goings in reincarnation do not end;
Through death and rebirth, they are wasting away.
Without the Word of the Goddess, people wander lost in reincarnation.
Through the love of duality, multitudes have been drowned.
O mind, swim across, by focusing your consciousness on Her names.
As it pleases You, Mistress, You save me. There is no other for me at all.
In front of me, I see the forest burning; behind me, I see green plants sprouting.
We shall merge into the One from whom we came.
The True One is pervading each and every heart.
She Herself unites us in Union with Herself;
The True Mansion of Her Presence is close at hand.

With each and every breath, I dwell upon You; I shall never forget You.
The more the Goddess dwells within the mind,
The more the lover of the Goddess drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar.
Mind and body are Yours; You are my Mistress.
Please rid me of my hate, my jealousy, and my ignorance, and let me merge with You.
Everyone belongs to the One who rules the Universe.
The lover of the Goddess practices good deeds, and the truth is revealed in the heart.
True is the reputation of the true, within whom truth abides.
Those who meet the True Goddess are not separated again;
They come to dwell in the home of the self deep within.
O mind, don’t cry out that you are hungry, always hungry; stop complaining.
The One who created the infinite species of beings gives sustenance to all.
The Fearless Goddess is forever Merciful; She takes care of all.

O lover of the Goddess, She understands, and finds the Door of Liberation.
Those who keep the Goddess enshrined within their hearts are said to be blessed.
Placing mind and body in offering before the Goddess,
They conquer and eradicate jealousy from within.
Blessed and acclaimed is that lover of the Goddess, who shall never be defeated.
Those who receive Her Grace find Her;
Without Her Grace, She cannot be found.
In the Grove of the Goddess, peace is found,
meditating on Her nine billion names night and day.
The truthful ones are not stained by hate.
Meditating on the Goddess, their minds remain pure;
The lovers of the Goddess shed their ego; attuned to her orgasm, they find peace.
The One Goddess is the Giver of all; She Herself bestows all blessings.
No one else has any say in this; She gives just as She pleases.

O mind, vibrate and meditate forever on the Goddess; seek the Protection of Her Grove.
The Mistress of the Universe is the Treasure of Excellence; Her limits cannot be found.
She is not obtained by mouthing mere words, but by rooting out jealousy from within.
By Goddess’ Grace, one remains blended with the True Name of the Creatrix;
This mind is very powerful; we cannot escape it just by trying.
In the love of duality, people suffer in pain, condemned to terrible punishment.
O mind, give up the love of duality.
The Goddess dwells within you; serving the Goddess, you shall find peace.
Engrossed in jealousy, the world perishes.
It dies and is re-born; it continues coming and going in reincarnation.
The self-willed do not recognize the Goddess;
They forfeit their honour, and depart in disgrace.

The True Queen has written Her Order, which no one can erase.
The self-willed do not obtain the Grove of the Goddess’ Presence.
The false are plundered by falsehood.
Engrossed in egotism, the world perishes.
Without the Goddess, there is utter darkness.
In emotional attachment to one lover, they have forgotten the Great Giver, the Giver of Peace.
Those who serve the True Goddess are saved;
They keep the True Goddess enshrined in their hearts.
By Her Grace, we find the Queen, and reflect on the True Word of the Goddess.
The desires of the mind are fulfilled, when one is filled to overflowing with Her orgasm.
One who fears, loves, and is devoted to the Dear Goddess day and night,
Sees Her always close at hand.
Doubt runs far away from the bodies of those,
Whose minds remain forever attuned to the True Word of the Goddess.
The Immaculate Mistress is found. She is True; She is the Ocean of Excellence.
Those who remain awake and aware are saved, while those who sleep are plundered.
They do not recognize the True Word of the Goddess, and like a dream, their lives fade away.
Like guests in a deserted house, they leave just exactly as they have come.

Healing Basics of Oslac

thor2 Healing Basics of OslacWithin the Oslac path, Healing (hælan – to make whole) isn’t just about the body, but is a complete, holistic process. An individual takes responsibility for himself or herself by taking an active role concerning their well-being. This is in direct contrast to the moden attitude of abusing our bodies, then rushing off to a doctor for some ‘magic’ pill.

The 6 underlying aspects of health, as seen by the Oslac healer are as follows.

Strǔtian (to exert oneself) – exercise. Cardio-vascular, resistance and flexibility training should be a part of everyday life, as well as Rune Stancing and Wigráden (these are similar to martial arts)

Æt (food) – a healthy eating plan low in fats and refined sugars, high in carbs and moderate protein and ensure to drink 2-3 liters of water a day.

Geondđencan (contemplate) – Meditation is as important as the other two aspects. In Oslac meditation is a part of everyday life.

Hlinian (rest) – Sounds obvious, but enough rest is vital, sleep is necessary for mind and body. Meditation is o use in resting but sleep, however, is vital, Most people need around 6 to 8 hours a night.

Gedœlan (‘share) –Having someone to share the ups and downs of your life with is a preciouse gift. The expression ‘No man is an island’ is a valid one. The isolation of self can lead to all sorts of emotional problems. Love and laughter are powerful.

Gesundgedigan (healthy benefit) – i.e. Therapies, massage, acupressure, dancing, chanting and drumming, Galdor Stancing etc, are all-therapeutic they allow human expression, emotive interactions and relaxation.

There is a time and a place for everything, a balance to find and perpetuate, that promotes health and well being.

There is a time to feast and a time to fast. A time for companionship and a time to explore the pleasures of solitude. We need life to be full and active, but we also need rest and relaxation.

One example of this cycle of balance is the Lunar Cycle, Since the moon as an effect on us creating changes in our moods and feeling as the moon has an effect on the tides it also has an effect on us.

New Moon:- time of renewal , good time fast and detox

Waxing Moon:- the body strengthens and builds, weight gain can occur

Full Moon:- emothional time, bleeding may also take longer to stop.

Waning Moon:- Fast detox can be more effective,.

Finding the right pagan path

630px Pentagram circle interlaced svg 150x150 Finding the right pagan pathA subject that is not often mentioned, if any examples are mentioned are slight at best and at worst are a list of do and don’ts. Like all religions paganism is not free of it’s nutters and weirdo’s their do exist.

For the more experienced pagan spotting these weirdo’s and steering clear be come second nature. But when you are new to paganism you have no real knowledge of what paganism is and you do all the things the books and the Internet says but at some stage a person will wish to either join a coven or find local moots and here is where the problems can start.

There are some but thankfully very few people whose views on paganism are to say less than pagan. These people use paganism as away of exploring their own perversion rather than exploring the way of the goddess these are normally very charismatic people often with a great deal of knowledge. The big problem is there is no right buy fertility drugs without a prescription or wrong way to be a pagan and anyone one can create their own path and get followers and members to join that path if they so choose.

When your looking to become a pagan or neo pagan there are a few things you need to think about before joining any group or coven, the first is your motivation.

Why are you motivated to join a group or coven, is their a need for community, a need to belong, a desire to learn or some darker motives. Examine your motives very closely, can you needs be met without joining a group or coven?

Once you have decided to join a group or coven it is a good idea to examine your ethics personal and spiritual and your needs create some question to ask group or coven leaders respectable groups and coven will happily answer any questions related to joining if they are not then they are not for you. One of the major question that seem to pop up is the question of Skyclad working naked for many people the idea of being naked in public is uncomfortable so you will need to find this out before you join. Other good questions to ask is “if I find the group or coven is not for me can I just leave” this may seem like a silly question you will not be held prisoner (Not going to mention Crowley) but their maybe rituals required to assist you leaving and helping you find the correct path good coven and group leaders will assist you as much as possible to help you find a path that is more suitable to you.

Other extremely important question to ask is cost you should never be charge for joining a group or coven but that being said there are costs involved in being a pagan such as books of shadows, athames, robes etc you may be asked to pitch in with the cost of supplies or food or even travel when required.

Once you have all the information that you need and you are happy joining a particular group you should not become a sheep and follow blindly if there is something that you feel is not right then challenge the leaders about these things. Group leaders should always be willing to explain why something has been done if you are not happy with the response then leave if you feel that your leaders are breaking the law in anyway contact the police and discuss your fears with them.

It is extremely rare to find a coven or group that is doing something illegal but it does happen and you will have to face your own conscience and choose the correct thing to do.

I have found that the goddess will guide you to where you need to be sometime that is learn a lesson other times it is to teach even as a beginner you have an important part to play in any group by questioning things will help you gain and give insight. No one has the right to tell you off for doing something and you should never be forced to do things that don’t feel comfortable.

Now you have all the required information you need to join a group the next thing is to find a group that can be a bit difficult since the pagan community is a bit secretive about covens the best place to start is to find a local moot information on moot are available on the internet and in pagan magazines as well as from the pagan federation at these groups you will meet other pagans many will be part of one coven or another so by showing your interest and communicating with other member of the moot will help you to connect to others some may even talk about their group or coven at which point you can ask for more information (remember your question). When and if connection form you may be offered membership to their group after a meeting with coven leaders. Remember that covens and groups have the same rights as you if they don’t want you to join then you don’t join and the same goes if you don’t want to join they cant force you to join.

What happens if you can find a group or coven to join for any number of reasons such as work commitment, location or even disability? Well that simple there is no law to say you have to join a group or coven to be a pagan be solitary in time you may meet others to share your path or interests you may even find that you will end up creating a new neo pagan path.
