Eclectic Spiritual ethics

School of Eclectic witchcraft Lesson 2 ethics School of Eclectic witchcraft Lesson 2 ethics

Spiritual ethics are basically a set of rules which help you connect spiritually to the god(s) / dess(s) the higher self , the creative intelligent, ancestor spirits, elements, higher begins etc which for this section will be referred to as “Spirit” Now from a formal standpoint spiritual relates to the “spirit!” Now how you personally see “Spirit” will depend upon your path or religious up bringing. For some spirit will mean the “soul” others the “divine” and for others it could be a mix between the two or something in between. So when we look at spiritual ethics we are not looking at the “spirit” or trying to define what “spirit” is as the definition of “spirit” is a personal one. We are looking at the way we interact and relate to “spirit”. Again our path and upbringing will influence how we interact with “spirit” for some it may be in silence others in loud parties and dance two extremes, which archives the same goal, a connection with “spirit”. Now a group that connects through silence will never be able understand the techniques required to connect using loud parties and vice versa as each group with have a different viewpoint. Now as a person you have a set of ethics when it comes to connecting with “spirit” these ethics are handed down from “a spiritual leader” i.e. Jesus, Buddha, Gardener etc who have instructed you how to connect with “spirit”. Now as eclectic witches we often have a mix of spiritual ideals from many spiritual

Models Of Magic

Pentagram-of-Solomon Pentagram-of-Solomon

In the course of exploring the possibilities of new, more efficient techniques of magic I was struck by the fact that a structuralist view of the history of magic to date might prove helpful.  After all, magicians have always aspired to restate the theory and practice of magic in the language of their times i.e. in different models pertaining to current world views. There is, however, some risk involved in such an approach: models do not really   explain   anything, they   are   only illustrations of processes, albeit rather useful ones.  What’s more, over-systematisation tends to obfuscate more than it clarifies and one should not mistake the map for the landscape anyway, a fallacy a great many kabbalists seem to be prone to. Thus, the following five (or rather: four plus one) models of magic should be seen as a means of understanding the practical possibilities   of   various   magical systems rather than as definitive theories and/or explanations of the way magic works. It has proved effective in practice to view magic under the following categories: THE SPIRIT MODEL THE ENERGY MODEL THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MODEL THE INFORMATION MODEL THE META-MODEL THE SPIRIT MODEL This is purportedly the oldest model of magic though it may very well have come into existence after or simultaneously with the energy model.  We can find it worldwide in shamanic cultures as well as in many religions.  Its basic premise is the existence of an other world inhabited by more or less autonomous entities such as spirits, angels, demons, gods etc.  The shaman or

Do Pagans pray

binding-love-spell binding-love-spell

Pagans do pray but not in the Christian way with palms pressed on bended knee. For many neo pagans the Christian way is considered pleading rather then praying. For a pagan a pray is a direct correspondence with a deity /spirit / or divine and are used mostly for gaining wisdom, and that being said many pagans will prepare to pray. Preparation will include ritual cleansing or bath or shower, preparing sacred space have the appropriate offerings for the deity / spirit. A circle or sacred space is created and then the deity is called to attend offering are offer to encourage the presence of the deity / spirit. The person once they have felt the presence of the deity / spirit the person would state who they are and by what right they have to call the deity / spirit in question. This can often be a long process of speaking your history, training and anything that the person thinks the deity would like to know. If the deity / spirit sees the person as worthy they will stay the person would the petition the deity / spirit for what they require listing the reason why they need or want and how it will be used. Only the very foolish will try to strike a bargain offering personal favours in return for what they require. If the deity / spirit has been duly impressed by your petition the answers will come to you it almost like speaking with the words of the spirit or

Win the Lottery with a spell

Lottery Spell Lottery Spell

Ok it’s not impossible to win the lottery by using magick so you asking why I am not typing this on a boat in the middle of the ocean sipping cocktails, well the true fact I am not that powerful, not that I could not be. Many pagans will come back with I don’t work for personal gain, or it against the goddess to do magick for selfish needs, where the true fact is they are not that powerful enough either but the fact is it easier to say that than try to explain magicks and the required energies need to create such a change. No one is going to turn down a lottery win and if it could be done with easy then we all would do it. So how powerful do you need to be before you can cast a successful spell to win the lottery? Well there is a formula or sorts to the amount of energy required to cause such a change your life. Basically its how much energy would you need to expend to earn the equal amount of money? You will need that amount of magickal energy to create the change required including outside influences and magickal correspondences. Example you earn £10 per hour during that hour you day dream chat on phone gossip email and many other things but out of that hour how much of your full attention do you give to your work lets say 5 mins total to keep things simple. So for 5mins-focused energy you

Ritual purification

smudge smudge

Ritual purification is not a new thing but someone somewhere can prove it all began way back when by pagans. But many religions have dedicated purification rituals including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Bahá’í Faith, Hinduism, Shinto, Buddhism, Indigenous American religions, Kalash (polytheists in the mountains of Pakistan), some of which are just general while others relate to different aspects of life. There are rituals for birth and birthing death and dying as well as rituals for sex (before and after), sickness, and menstruation and of course there are purification rituals for contacting the divine whether that be prayer or formal ritual. There are even purification ritual that have invaded normal life such as wash hand before eating or after going to the toilet now today we know that these minor acts of purification have health benefits but where originally done to be seen pure in the eyes of the divine a sign of respect. Now a day cleaning has become a common activity in most homes, now we all rush around with the duster and Hoover if we know that some one is turning up this is ritual purification at it most basic. The act of cleaning removes unwanted items from your home (if only the visible parts lol) but we all get that spring cleaning bug at least once a year not always at spring where we do the big clean we move furniture and clean the tops of paintings and door frames no where is let unclean. For many pagans the act of cleaning
