The Cyber Pagan and The God’s
I first heard the term Cyber Pagan in an episode of Buffy and yes it seem a bit woolly to me but when I had time to review the idea and do some research on the topic I found it to be a very valuable as a solitary practitioner for finding information and progressing my own personal path.
Cyber Paganism is less of a tradition of witchcraft in the practical sense of the craft, and more about networking and disseminating information. The Internet is the ultra-modern age for pagans, and more and more people are turning to it in their quest to practice The Old Religion. It is the ideal medium for the solitary or eclectic practitioner, to learn from and communicate with others in the craft. It is also ideal for those people unable to meet with and practice with others, and indeed for those who for various reasons need to remain anonymous.
There are now many groups on the Internet that take part in live play and group rituals. This is accomplished through synchronized live imagery and the typed word. When you think about it, magick holds no boundaries, a person practicing in England using the same tools, method and intent, synchronized with a person in America, should and now do work together in common magical goals.
So if we take a deeper look at Cyber or Techno Paganism it is a real and valid path and a true natural progression to paganism. Many pagan paths today spend a lot of time trying to reclaim “The Old Religion”. But paganism to me is a very personal thing a unique connection between a person and the divine form it grows and develops as the person grows and develops not just spiritually but in all aspects in their life.
So can you turn your PC or laptop into an altar? I don’t see any reason why not we cast a circle so we can work in a world within a world a realm within a realm and through a PC / Laptop etc we access a hidden world a world bigger than our imaginations with unlimited possibilities.
So if we can just accept that cyber space is a real space then there is no reason that it cannot be use to pagan practices, learning, and developing your own pagan path. But what about the god’s and goddess’s? as we know the archetypal god’s and goddess’s have particular areas in which the have control over; So for me the God that rules over the internet is Mercury the messenger God and the Goddess is Arachne the goddess of truth telling. But all the god’s and goddess’s are available on line in the form of images, stories, historical documents, discussion groups, information portals and chat rooms dedicated to the deity of your choice you just have to find them.
So how do you become a cyber pagan???? ………. Sshh! Don’t tell any one but you are one already by reading this; seeking information; ideas and view on the Internet automatically make you a cyber pagan, it does not change who you are or what path you follow it’s a skill that help you use to become a better person.
You just have to remember that your pc / laptop etc are tools just as your Athame, Wand or tarot cards and need to be charge for magical workings a short incantation I used when looking for magical or pagan info is “Mercury hear my message and send me the response I need.” But we must remember that even though we use PC / laptops etc in everyday life when using them for spiritual development you must show them the respect and pay honour to the ruling deity.
Showing your PC the correct respects sound a little silly but it is important and I am not just talking about the monitor and circuits use a good anti virus software even the strongest magical circle with not protect against virus and other nastiest on the web. Be careful there are a lot people on the web whose soul purpose is to part you from your cash or personal information just as there are in the physical world.
And remember that you can access this inner worlds knowledge with a click of a mouse.

Great posting. I am very relieved to find others out there that share the same beliefs as I do when it comes to technology working just as well as any other tool we use on our Paths. Many thanks and Brightest blessings.
