A lot of rituals and traditional practices exist within the Wiccan religion of witchcraft. Gardnerian and Alexandrian Wicca are the names of some of these rituals which are followed and they come under the classification of traditional Wicca in Britain. All these practices come under the Gardner lineage. Cochrane’s craft, Feri and the Dianic tradition are some of the other traditions which are followed by the Wiccans. A lot of people who are followers of this religion prefer to call it by the name of witchcraft instead of Wicca.

A famous researcher by the name of Margot Adler has stated that a ritual is a practice which will allow people to gather into a group and reconnect themselves to the cosmos. This will help them to establish a connection with all the activities which are taking place in their everyday life. All the traditions and ritualistic practices which are followed by the Wiccans are not mechanical practices which will be repeated time and again. Every person who is performing these traditional rituals will undergo a spiritualistic change in their state of consciousness.

Many people who follow the Wiccan religion continue to have doubts in their minds regarding the existence of God and life after death. However, despite all this they follow all the traditions and practices of the Wiccan religion in a faithful manner. According to them, the Wiccan religion is the perfect fusion of songs, dance, music, dreams and beauty. A historian by the name of Aidan Kelly has spoken a lot about the important of the religious practices and the religious experiences in the Wiccan religion. According to him, the rituals and practices which were followed by the Wiccans were more important than the actual religious beliefs in the minds of the people. Many other experts believe that despite the fact that witchcraft has been considered a total anti thesis to logical thinking and reasoning, there are certain aspects or viewpoints which coincide with theories in the modern science.
